There have long been rumours about Brooklyn Beckham and Nicole Peltz's whirlwind romance and lavish wedding being the main source of growing tension within the famous Beckham family. Now, the 26-year-old photographer and entrepreneur, who married heiress, Nicola Peltz in 2022, himself recently took to his Instagram handle and shared how his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, tried to sabotage his relationship before he walked down the aisle. Here's what he said.

Brooklyn Beckham claims his parents tried to stop his wedding to Nicola Peltz

Brooklyn Beckham admitted in his emotional statement that he made repeated attempts to interfere and stop his wedding to Nicola Peltz, long before they tied the knot in Florida. He highlighted that their attempts have not yet stopped. In fact, the 26-year-old claimed that his mother, Victoria, reportedly planned to design Nicola's wedding dress but canceled it at the last minute, leaving Nicola with no option but to find another dress. In his words:

"My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola's dress at the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress."

Additionally, he claimed that weeks before the wedding, his parents had pressured him to step away from the rights to his name, which would have affected him, his wife, Nicola, and their future children. But when he refused, it affected his potential payday and damaged his bond with his parents. Furthermore, Brooklyn alleged that his family's attempts did not stop there, and the night before their wedding, his family clarified to him that Nicola was "not blood" and his mother hijacked his first dance with Nicola as newlyweds. Recalling their vision to tie the knot again, he said:

"We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment. My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we've tried to come together as one."

Brooklyn Beckham reveals he went to attend his father, David Beckham's 50th birthday 

David Beckham celebrated his 50th birthday in 2025 in the presence of all of his family members. But Brooklyn's absence fuelled rumours about his rift with his parents. Yet the 26-year-old now revealed that he went to his father's birthday in London, but he and Nicola were ignored for an entire week. Likewise, he alleged that when his family visited Los Angeles, they refused to meet him at all. For those unaware, People earlier reported that David and Victoria had made repeated attempts to reconcile with their son and daughter-in-law. In contrast, Brooklyn sent a legal notice asking them to communicate only through lawyers. In Brooklyn's words:

"We still travelled to London for my dad's birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room, trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner. When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn't invited."

Brooklyn and Nicola's Love Story

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicole Peltz first met in 2017, but they were dating different people at the time. But later, they reconnected in 2019 at Leonardo DiCaprio's Halloween Party 2019. It was followed by their first kiss two days later, and after dating for just eight months, Brooklyn popped the question to Nicola in 2020. The duo tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony on April 9, 2022 at Nicola's family estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Later, in 2025, they quietly renewed their vows in a private ceremony, without any Beckham family members present.
