Did Elvish Yadav Cause Rajat Dalal's Defeat In Bigg Boss 18? Latter Responds, 'Mota Kharcha Ho Jata'

The controversial television reality show, Bigg Boss 18 met its glorious end on January 19, 2025, crowning Karan Veer Mehra as the season’s winner, whereas Vivian Dsena and Rajat Dalal became the first and second runner-ups, respectively. All three of the finalists’ stints were impressive throughout the season, but Rajat especially impressed fans with his grounded approach after losing out on the trophy after coming so close. Now, Rajat has addressed the ongoing speculation that his friend, Elvish Yadav might have been the reason for his defeat.

Rajat Dalal addresses the Elvish Yadav connection

Rajat’s Bigg Boss 18 journey became even more memorable thanks to a playful promise by social media star and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner, Elvish Yadav. For context, Elvish, who is a close friend of Rajat, took to his social media and shared a video cheering for his friend, and motivating fans to vote for him. Elvish had vowed to gift 101 iPhones if Rajat won the trophy, a moment fans couldn’t stop talking about. In a candid chat interview with News18 Showsha, when reminded of this promise, Rajat joked:

“I just want to ask him if he would have paid for those phones or would he have asked me to spend? If yes, mota kharcha ho jata!"

Does Rajat Dalal blame Elvish’s support for his defeat?

Rajat was further asked whether he believed Elvish Yadav’s backing had any impact on the outcome. Rajat gracefully dismissed the idea and remarked how he is happy with the organic love and support he received from fans in the show. He remarked:

“If my people are supporting me and I lose, I would be happier with that. There’s no point winning if no one is by your side. Apno ka saath hi zindagi bhar rehta hai, trophy 4 din ghar rahegi phir koi dekhega bhi nahin. Rishte hote hain, bhaichara hota hai. You carry them close to your hearts all your life. If tomorrow you’re in trouble of any sort, this trophy won’t help me out, but my brothers would."

Rajat gave strong competition to his co-contestants and made it to the Top 3 finalists in Bigg Boss 18 Grand Finale. However, he could not reach the Top 2 and left the game as a second runner-up. The finale featured an impressive line-up of contestants, including Karan Veer Mehra, Vivian Dsena, Rajat Dalal, Avinash Mishra, Eisha Singh, and Chum Darang. Each brought their unique charm to the show, but it was Karan who ultimately clinched the title. Talking about the victory of his co-contestant, Rajat shared:

“It’s not like one person decided this, so it’s better to accept this fate. There’s no point being upset or spreading negativity. I want to focus on what I can do better now in the future rather than dwelling in the past."
