The latest episode of The Kardashians, which aired on Hulu on December 4, 2025, focused on raw emotion and long-awaited clarification. Kim Kardashian opened up about her 2016 Paris Fashion Week robbery, a moment she has revisited many times but one that continues to draw scrutiny. Despite years of explaining the trauma, speculation around the incident has never fully died down.
What cut deepest for Kim was discovering that her ex-husband, Kanye West, had echoed those doubts as well. Hearing him suggest the robbery was “fake” and labelling it as a publicity stunt felt like a painful betrayal, coming from someone who has known her for so many years and with whom she built a family. With the case now resolved, Kim confronted that wound once more.

In the December 4 episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, filmed after Kim returned to Paris to testify in the trial for the ten accused in her 2016 hotel robbery, the 45-year-old addressed years of public doubt. She grew emotional, revealing that her ex-husband, Kanye West, had claimed she “faked” the heist for a TV storyline. Recalling how that felt like a ‘knife’ to her heart, the Kardashian sister shared:
“My ex-husband had said, ‘And you faked your robbery for a TV show,’ and had said that in front of all these people. That was a knife to my heart. Just to think that someone wouldn’t believe you — that’s so close to you, that should know you, that should know how much that affected your life.”

To note, Kanye was still married to Kim when the robbery happened and had seen everything first-hand. Holding back her tears, Kim said in her December 4 confessional that the moment had bugged her all these years, as she had no solid evidence to support her stance until the case was solved. And now, after seeing the accused and hearing their accounts, she can finally look everyone in the eye and say that it was real. She said:
“It just really bothered me. Like, ‘You don’t know who I am?’ So to finally be able to go to trial, face these people and hear their accounts and apologies … I’m like, ‘Guys, it was real, you know?’ I am happy it is over.”
What happened on the night of the heist?
The incident dates back to October 3, 2016, when Kim was in Paris for that year’s Paris Fashion Week. She was in her hotel room when a group of masked men dressed in police uniforms stormed into the room, tied her up with a zipline, and allegedly robbed her at gunpoint, stealing jewellery worth more than USD 10 million, including her now-infamous diamond ring.
During a 2020 interview with David Letterman, Kim recalled the terrifying few minutes in that Paris hotel room when she thought she was going to get sexually assaulted and had prepared herself for the worst. Remembering what she has repeatedly said was the scariest moment of her life, she tearfully shared:
“I was like, ‘OK, this is the time I’m gonna get raped. Like, deal, this is gonna happen, just prepare yourself. So, I did and then — I don’t know why I’m crying, I’ve talked about this before — and then he tied me up with handcuffs and zip-ties and then duct tape and duct-taped my mouth and my eyes.”

In 2017, authorities arrested 17 suspects, ultimately charging 10 of them. After years of delays, the case finally concluded on May 23, 2025, when eight men were found guilty, and two were acquitted, according to The Associated Press.
The ringleader, Aomar Ait Kedache, was sentenced to eight years in prison, though five of those years were suspended. Three members of his crew received seven-year sentences, also with five years suspended. Because most of the men are in their 60s and 70s, the court reduced their jail time, meaning none will return to prison due to age and time already served.
The other Kardashians recall the public scrutiny

It’s no wonder that reality TV comes with its fair share of scrutiny, and for the Kardashian family, the gossip mills go on longer. Remembering the backlash that came with Kim’s 2016 Paris robbery, her sister, Khole Kardashian, recalled how painful it was to watch people question the story. Their mother, Kris Jenner, stayed by Kim’s side, sitting throughout the testimony. Kim’s friends, who had rushed to her side after the robbery, appeared in the episode, describing how the terrified family recalibrated their security for fear of safety.

Kim’s testimony for the case went on for nearly six hours. After returning to her hotel that day, Kim expressed her gratitude to her mom for sticking by her side through it all. The reality TV star told Kris:
“I wanted to say that [during the testimony], and I thought my attorneys were gonna kill me. They’d lose it if I said that. Said, ‘Thank you for doing this to me.’"
The episode closes on Kim’s message to critics and doubters: the robbery was real, the trauma was real, and the healing has taken years. New episodes of The Kardashians stream every Thursday on Hulu in the U.S. (9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT), and Friday mornings on JioHotstar in India (around 12:30–1:30 a.m. IST).
