Did Sonam Kapoor Subtly Reveal Katrina Kaif Was Harassed In The Industry With Her 7 Sibling Comment?

Sonam Kapoor reveals that her friend was harassed in the film industry

Sonam Kapoor has been a vocal proponent of the revolutionary 'MeToo' movement and has always supported women to speak up against sexual harassment. However, a former clip from BoFVoices 2018 resurfaced on the internet, and netizens wonder if Sonam outed Katrina Kaif.

A shocking revelation made by Sonam during an interview with Business of Fashion back in 2018 was reshared by The Bollywood ORRYginals' Instagram handle. The actress, in the interview, shared about two of her friends in the film industry and shared the reasons why celebrities do not speak about their harrowing sexual encounters. The Prem Ratan Dhan Payo star sat for a conversation about harassment in Bollywood.

She revealed how two of her friends went through some horrifying experiences yet chose to remain silent about it. Sonam, in the interview, spoke about a friend who stayed silent because she had to support her seven siblings and didn't want people to see her as a victim for the rest of her life, especially in the film industry. She was quoted saying:

"Two of my closest friends, who are my very, very good friends, have actually experienced horrible sexual encounters and, you know, were harassed very badly. Don't want to talk about it and I completely am okay with it, but they don't. Because one of my friends was like, I don't wanna be known as a victim for the rest of my life, especially in the film industry. She was like, you know, my whole career is built on that, and you know I have to take care of my seven siblings and my family, etc. I do not want it to be what defines me." 

Netizens wonder if Sonam Kapoor was talking about Katrina Kaif

Even though Sonam Kapoor did not name her friends in question. Her reference to the actress with seven siblings led netizens to wonder if she was talking about Katrina Kaif. The Instagram account shared the video with the caption, 'When Sonam said that she has a film industry friend who has had horrible sexual harassment encounters but didn't talk about it as her career supported her family of 7 siblings. #sharedtoomuch.' Soon enough, the comment section was filled with comments calling Sonam out for not naming the actress but giving her away by the sibling reference.

A user commented, "So she didn't name her but said seven siblings and gave it away. Her genius is (fire emoji)." Another Instagram user questioned her intention and wrote, "Did she say that on purpose?" Another commenter penned, "She is talking about Katrina Kaif." While another user took a humorous jab at Sonam and stated:

"Tell me you're talking about Kat without telling me you're talking about Kat."
