'Dies Irae' OTT Release: When And Where To Watch Pranav Mohanlal's Unsettling Horror Drama

Rahul Sadasivan is known for his impeccable filmography. He has written and directed several amazing cinematic works, so it's no surprise that his latest horror film, Dies Irae, is a masterpiece. The film made headlines when it was released on Halloween, October 31, 2025, and became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of the year. The film is now all set to stream digitally. However, before we get into when and where fans can stream the horror saga, let's take a quick look at the film.

Dies Irae shared continuity with Rahul Sadasivan's previous films, Bhoothakaalam (2022) and Bramayugam (2024). The film stars Pranav Mohanlal in the lead role. It also stars Sushmitha Bhat, Gibin Gopinath, Jaya Kurup, Manohari Joy, Arun Ajikumar, Shine Tom Chacko, and Sreedhanya. The film is produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S. Sashikanth under the banner Night Shit Studios and YNOT Studios.

When and where to watch Dies Irae?

Dies Irae will stream on JioHotstar from December 5, 2025. The OTT platform shared the news on its official handle on November 29, 2025. JioHotstar also posted a video promoting the release, in which Pranav Mohanlal's character, 'Rohan' is in a deep sleep before being woken by a mysterious hand caressing his head. The post made fans immensely happy. The post was captioned as:

"The Day of Wrath is here. Diés Iraé will be streaming from December 5 only on JioHotstar."

The horror saga of Dies Irae

Dies Irae, which translates to 'the day of wrath' in Latin, is written and directed by Rahul Sadasivan and produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth under Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios. The film shares continuity with his previous works, Bhoothakaalam and Bramayugam. The film follows the story of a rich Indo-American architect named 'Rohan' essayed by Pranav Mohanlal, who leads a comfortable life in a villa in Kerala.

However, when 'Rohan' (Pranav) learns of the suicide of a former classmate named 'Kani', played by Sushmita Bhat, he visits her home and takes a hairclip as a keepsake. Soon, he begins to experience supernatural occurrences at his home, leading him to question the reality he knows. The story is a journey of how things escalate after the demise of 'Kani' and how 'Rohan' navigates the situation, or does he?

Besides Pranav, the rest of the cast was kept under wraps until the first teaser was released. Gibin Gopinath, Manohari Joy, Arun Ajikumar, and Jaya Kurup also star in it. The film received positive reviews from critics upon its release. Despite the A certificate for gory content, Dies Irae collected Rs. 82 crore worldwide and is one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films this year.
