Diljit's 'Sardaar Ji 3' Trailer Out Ft. Hania Aamir, To Release Overseas Amid Indo-Pak Tensions

Diljit Dosanjh is one of the most beloved stars in Punjabi cinema who rose to national and then global fame with his acting, singing, style, and fun personality. Fans are always eager to know about new updates from the actor's work, and recently, he delighted fans by sharing the trailer of his upcoming comedy film, Sardaar Ji 3. However, the trailer's release came with its set of unexpected twists, including a confirmation about the presence of Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir in the film. 

Sardaar Ji 3 trailer is not available to watch on YouTube in India

Sardaar Ji 3 trailer showcases Diljit Dosanjh in his signature quirky character with an obsession for spirits. It also puts the speculation about the presence of Hania Aamir in the film to rest, as she plays a prominent role in the film as a leading lady. At the same time, the Amar Hundal directorial also includes more Pakistani actors, including Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela. However, the trailer isn't available for Indians to watch on YouTube. Anyone who tries to access it gets a message:

"The uploader has not made this video available in your country."

However, the teasers and the songs of the film are available to watch in India which has raised questions about the selective restrictions. According to Industry insiders, the decision about an overseas release comes amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, which escalated after the recent attacks in Pahalgam and subsequent Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025. Due to the same reason, Indian authorities have blocked the social media accounts of Pakistani celebrities in India, including that of Hania Aamir. 

FWICE urges CBFC to withhold clearance of Sardaar Ji 3 

In India, the Central Board of Film Certification has the right to pass a film for release. So, amid the industry and nationwide backlash against Pakistani artists getting opportunity to work in India, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued an official statement on Sardaar Ji 3. In the statement, it asked the CBFC to withhold clearance of Diljit Dosanjh's starrer due to the presence of Pakistani actors in the film. It had put the producers in a tight spot and to avoid possible protest and delay in India, they decided to release the film overseas only. Fans have mixed reactions to the trailer. Some are excited and praised the maker's approach, while others criticized them for releasing their film with Pakistani actors.

Sardaar Ji 3 is based in the UK, where Diljit Dosanjh will return as 'Jaggi', the ghost hunter. He is called to a haunted mansion to remove an in-house ghost, and the teaser shows him and Hania Aamir, removing in-home witches and having face-offs with a ghost. The film also stars Neeru Bajwa, Jasmin Bajwa, Manav Vij, and Gulshan Grover. It is produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Singh Sidhu, and Sardaar Ji 3 will be released on June 27, 2025.
