Dino Morea Reveals Being The One To Break Up With Bipasha Basu During 'Raaz', Shares The Reason

Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu used to be one of the much-loved couples in Bollywood. The duo reportedly met each other on a blind date, set up by their friends. Well, they had been in a relationship for over six years, from 1996 to 2002. Dino had said that the time that he and Bipasha broke up was actually really tough for him, but they later sorted out their differences and continued to be each other's friends. Well, in a recent interview, Dino Morea talked about him being the one to break up with the actress, and how it affected him to see her upset on the set of Raaz.

Dino Morea admits he was the one to break up with his ex-GF, Bipasha Basu

Dino Morea recently sat for an interview with Pinkvilla, wherein he talked about his breakup with Bipasha Basu. Talking about the same, Dino said that it was him to break their relationship as they were having some issues. Dino said that Bipasha was finding it hard as she had to see him every day, and it was a tough phase. Dino stated that it felt really bad for him to see Bipasha sad every day on the set as he cared about her. Dino can be quoted as saying:

"Jab Raaz ke dauran, we were breaking up, Bipasha and me, and to be honest, it was me who was breaking up with Bipasha because we had some issues. So she found it very tough and I was seeing her every day on the set. She was upset. It was very, very tough at that point for me to see someone I care about so much."

Dino Morea shared why it was hard for him and Bipasha during their breakup phase

In the same interview, Dino Morea stated that they had already chosen separate paths back then, and they had also tried to fix things between them, which couldn't be fixed, and thus, he chose to move on. He stated that it was a tough moment for them as when two people stay together for several years, it becomes really hard for them when they have to choose separate ways, and it was harder for Bipasha and Dino as they were working together. Dino Morea said:

"Humne already alag alag raasta chun liya tha. Humne koshish bhi ki to fix it par wo fix nahi ho ra tha. And I moved on. "It was a tough moment because jinke saath aap ne kuch saalo samay bitaya aab aap alag ho rahe ho. And uss dauran hum saath mein kaam bhi kar rahe the. We were both upset but we had to go separate ways. We had to. It was very tough but nothing can heal anything more than time. Time heals everything. Time heals everything; you just had to let it pass.”

Dino Morea further added that although things were tough and they both were hurt, time heals everything and anything. He shared that he and Bipasha became the best of friends after they surpassed that phase in their lives. He remarked that once someone can let go of that anger, rage, and emotions, they will realise that they have actually enjoyed the opposite person, so they can continue to be friends. In Dino Morea's words:

"We became the best of friends after that. That moment is very tough; it’s like anger, emotions, rage, but time will make you understand that it was a moment. I really enjoy that person and she enjoys me so let’s be friends at least."

When Vikram Bhatt revealed that Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu's breakup actually impacted Raaz's shoot

While Raaz was one of the turning points of Bipasha's career, reportedly she wasn't the first choice for the movie. As per reports, it was Lisa Ray who was first given the opportunity to act alongside Dino in the movie, but she couldn't do the same due to personal reasons. Well, it was Dino who then recommended his then-GF, Bipasha for the role. In an interview with News18, Vikram said that it was evident during the shoot of Raaz that the duo's relationship was falling apart. He added that during the shoot of the wedding song for the movie Main Agar Saamne, they were fighting, which left the actress hurt and crying and Dino unhappy.
