Ramanand Sagar’s iconic television show, Ramayan, has remained a golden performance to date. Moreover, it also went on to create a place in the Limca Book of World Records for the most-watched mythological series. Dipika Chikhlia was one such actor from the show who rose to immense fame due to her unparalleled performance as 'Sita' in the show. Her acting stirred people’s hearts to such an extent that even today, most of them refer to her fondly as ‘Devi Sita’.
After 33 years of the show, Dipika Chikhlia has become a well-established actor. She was last seen in the 2019 hit film, Bala as one of the supporting characters. Moreover, she is also slated to portray in the biopic of Sarojini Naidu. Coming to her personal life, she is happily married to the man of her dreams, Hemant Topiwala, who owns the famous makeup brand, Shingar Bindi and Tips and Toes Cosmetics. The couple is blessed with two daughters, Nidhi and Juhi.

Since the end of the television show, Ramayan, Dipika's ardent fans have been on their toes to gather as much information as possible about the actress’ life. And therefore, pleading with her fan’s request, Dipika had once shared her love story with the world on her social media. Sharing an unseen candid picture from the varmala moment of her wedding with Hemant, she mentioned:
“Just wondering do you ever want to know how I met my husband.”
In one of her posts on her IG handle, Dipika shared a picture from her wedding day as a bride. Needless to say, she looked like an effortless bride decked in a red and white-hued printed saree paired with gold jewellery. Along with the nostalgic picture, Dipika also added a caption where she recalled how she met her husband, Hemant, on the sets of a commercial shoot she did with his brand, Shingar. In her words:
“My husband's family has been manufacturing and selling traditional Indian cosmetics under the name of Shingar since 1961....my very first movie that I did was Sun Meri Laila and, in the film, there was a scene where I model for an ad film and that ad film was for Shingar Kajal....when we were shooting for the ad scene, Hemant came on the set to watch the shoot.... that’s when we first met... After that we both got busy with our lives but we both were on each other's mind till we finally met again.”
Continuing with narrating the story of her love life, Dipika mentioned how she and Hemant, after that, started meeting one another beyond the shoot timings and talked to one another endlessly. However, after the show went off-air, the real-life couple, Dipika and Hemant, stopped meeting briefly when he became busy handling the family business. But, years later, they met again, which ended in their beautiful union in marital bond. In her words:
“We chatted on the sets bout our careers, that was the same time he started attending his father’s office alongside with his studies ...years later he saw me at a parlour near my home. He later told me I was always playing up on his mind all through those years. Finally, through a family friend we met up on 28th April, 1991 and it so happened that we spend 2hrs chatting up and instantly made up our minds and both of us went back home and announced we found our life partner ...we did a small ceremony on my birthday 29th April (goldhana or roka) later the same year we got married. Rest is history."

Dipika Chikhlia is an active social media user who often shares priceless and memorable photos from her life with her fans. For instance, she once had dropped an unseen picture from her honeymoon in Switzerland with her hubby, Hemant. The nostalgic picture featured the then-newlywed couple striking a pose against the snow-capped Alps. Along with the picture, she also added a note which revealed how her hubby had planned to take her to Switzerland after knowing that it was the favourite destination on her bucket list. In her words:
“This is a picture from my holiday after the wedding (honeymoon), we had taken a trip to Switzerland... He had asked me were for you want to travel after the wedding, I did not take even a minute to tell him... it’s Switzerland. I always thought and felt it’s land of dreams coming true ...I knew I wanted snow.”
Apart from being a talented actress, Dipika Chikhlia is a doting wife and a splendid mother to her daughters, Nidhi and Juhi. Though the Topiwalas are barely seen in the media glare as a family, it was Dipika who had once shared a beautiful family picture. It featured the actress and her hubby, Hemant flaunting their bright smiles while their daughters twinned with their mom in sarees.
