Dipika Kakar Catches Viral Infection Amidst Targeted Therapy For Liver Cancer, Reveals Her Struggles

Dipika Kakar has been through a lot after she was diagnosed with liver cancer in May 2025. While her tumour is removed through surgery at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. She is on targeted therapy for cancer. Amidst it, the actress caught viral fever, and she is going through a difficult time due to her health struggles. 

Dipika Kakar revealed she caught a fever during her targeted therapy for cancer 

Recently, in her latest vlog, Dipika Kakar mentioned that she has been prescribed a heavy dosage of antibiotics and anti-allergy medicine, which took a toll on her health. Dipika revealed she caught an infection after her son, Ruhaan, fell sick. However, her condition quickly got severe as she was undergoing treatment and due to this, her immunity is low. She said:

"My condition has been quite bad. I caught the viral infection that Ruhaan had, and in my case, it has gotten severe because I am undergoing treatment, because of which my immunity is low. Doctor Somnath had told us earlier only that he needs to be contacted if I catch any viral infection or fever. I have been prescribed a very heavy dosage of antibiotics and anti-allergy medicines, which is taking a toll on me. I hope I feel better soon. Yesterday, I had lots of weakness."

Dipika Kakar’s tumour surgery lasted for 14 hours

For the unversed, Dipika’s surgery was conducted at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. The surgery lasted for 14 hours. In his latest vlog, Shoaib revealed that he dropped her off at the operation theatre at 8:30 in the morning, and she came out only at 11:30 in the night. Soon, she was out of OT, she was rushed to the ICU, where she remained under observation for three days. The actor shared:

"I am extremely grateful to everyone who has showered blessings and prayers for Dipika. Dil se bohot bohot shukriya. Her surgery was successful, and she is safe now. Her tumour is completely out. Dipika’s tumour is now taken for biopsy, and the reports will come in a few days. Please pray that Dipika gets completely recovered, and hopefully, in a few days, Dipika will also get discharged."

Dipika Kakar's last project

It is worth mentioning that Dipika Kakar made her first appearance after the birth of Ruhaan with her participation in the Celebrity MasterChef judged by Farah Khan, Chef Ranveer Brar, and Chef Vikas Khanna. However, she had to leave the show mid-way as she got severe pain in her shoulder. Gaurav Khanna lifted the show's trophy. Talking about her last show, she was seen in Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum in 2019. She even made a cameo in Sasural Simar Ka 2.

When Dipika Kakar talked about her comeback on television

A while ago, Dipika Kakar hosted a Live session and answered her fans' queries. During the session, a fan asked Dipika about her comeback on television, and the actress gave a positive reply. She stated that she would love to and will ask her doctor when she can restart her work.

Dipika added that her initial plan was to restart acting and take up new projects after she had weaned off her son, Ruhaan. But things took a turn, and she had to wean her son within a day due to her surgery. She was quoted as saying:

"I would love to! Kyunki maine apne doctors se bhi poochha hai ki main kab kaam kar sakti hu. Kyunki mera actual plan yehi tha ki jab Ruhaan ka feeding chhoot jayega, then uske baad I will plan. Get fit again and get back to work. Lekin yeh sab ho gaya, iss tareeke se hoga kisi ne nahi socha tha."
