Disney's 'Ice Age 6's Release Date Announced, Know Which Voice Casts Are Returning For The Movie

The popular Disney movie franchise, Ice Age, is set to be back with its sixth instalment. Recently, the title and release date of the upcoming comedy-drama were announced through a collaborative Instagram post by Disney and the official page of the Ice Age movie. Through that, the makers confirmed that the movie's production is in works and will hit the theatres next year. A new poster has also been released, generating excitement among fans.

Ice Age 6's title and release date have been announced

Disney officially announced the sixth film in the Ice Age franchise, at the Destination D23 event in Orlando in August 2025. The movie is titled Ice Age: Boiling Point, and is scheduled to hit the big screens on February 5, 2027, which is a slight delay from an earlier reported date of December 2026. The beloved franchise has a dedicated set of fans, who can't keep calm since the release date and poster of the upcoming movie have been dropped.

Ice Age: Boiling Point's first-look motion poster released

A first-look motion poster of the animation film was also released on the same day as the title and release date announcement. The poster unfolded with serene snowflakes drifting across the screen, revealing the first part of the title, 'Ice Age'. Then the scene dramatically shifted to burning sounds, which introduce the second half of the text, 'Boiling Point'. The post included the caption:

"Ice Age: Boiling Point was just announced at Destination @disneyd23! Coming to theatres on February 5, 2027, the newest adventure takes the herd to visit never-before-seen corners of the treacherous Lost World! #DestinationD23."

What to expect from Ice Age: Boiling Point?

According to the plot synopsis provided by Disney, the main characters of the movie will travel to previously unseen parts of the prehistoric Lost World, an area first introduced in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Fans can expect more drama, more comedy and more fiery adventure in Ice Age: Boiling Point. Produced by 20th Century Animation, this will be the first theatrical Ice Age movie since Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, following the closure of Blue Sky Studios.

With Ice Age 6 being released after half a decade since the last film, The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, fans are eagerly waiting to see what new sides of 'Ellie', 'Sid', 'Diego' and more will be showcased in Ice Age: Boiling Point. It is expected to leverage nostalgia for fans who grew up with the movie franchise, while also incorporating additional elements that will appeal to the new generation.

Ice Age 6's returning cast includes Ray Romano, Queen Latifah and more

The original main voice cast of the franchise is confirmed to return in the sixth instalment, as reported by Variety. The fan-favourite voices of Ray Romano, Queen Latifah and more will be heard again in the upcoming 2027 release. Somewhere in Queens actor, Ray Romano will be heard as Manny. Bloodline fame, John Leguizamo will be back as Sid's voice. Denis Leary and Queen Latifah will lend their voice to Diego and Ellie's characters, respectively. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning's Simon Pegg will be heard delivering Buck's dialogues.
