Period shaming has been a part of our society for the longest. Women were considered as untouchables, they were given a set of rules and whatnot. However, the times are changing now and women have come out in open to talk about periods, yet there is a long way to go to win this battle. People still find it hard to accept the fact that periods are supernormal and natural. They are one of the reasons that a woman is able to conceive and take her family’s legacy forward. Periods are all about bringing happiness in life, though it is only the woman, who has to suffer for 5 to 7 days on the go, yet people find it to be one unhealthy activity. Well, there is a long way to go, but we women are certainly going to fight till period shamming stops and people start to accept it like any other thing. Our celebrities have been doing their best to normalise the taboo and hullaballoo around ‘periods’. From Akshay Kumar’s Padman to various actresses talking about their period stories and promoting various sanitary napkin brands, our celebrities have been quite vocal about the need to normalise and end period shamming. Many of the influencers have been actively talking about their period stories and sharing with their fans when they have periods, cramps and mood swings. The idea is to talk as much as people can, so that a change can be made. Joining in is the famous face of MTV, Divya Agarwal, who is spending her quarantine with her boyfriend, Varun Sood. Divya and Varun have been ‘it couple’ of telly world and the youth of the country looks up to them.
Recently, Divya took to her Instagram stories to share how Varun doesn’t know how to pamper her when she is on her periods. She wrote, “When I am in periods Varun doesn’t know what to do” atop it. However, this did not go down well with one user, who tried to shame Divya for sharing her period story. A user replied to her story in her DM and wrote, “Bloody sh*t uh r..ab period bhi announce karogi kya...din me kitna ped lagati h wo bhi bata do fir (Are you going to announce your period too? Now all that is left is for you to talk about how many sanitary pads you change in a day).. have some manners yaar..apni private cheez q disclose krre ho (Why are you disclosing your private things?).” Divya is not amongst the ones, who will let such trolls go, without teaching them a lesson and we are glad she give it back to the user. She shared the screenshot of the DM on her story and hit it back at the troll. Her reply can be read as “Din me 10-12 pads* ho jate hai (Around 10-12 pads* in a day) — ask me as no one taught you right!” She did not stop there and took another story to school the trolls, “I’m on periods. Moody, yes, but I really wish to educate people. Shut up n pamper the girls around you dealing with it every month!”
Varun Sood and Divya Agarwal love treating their fans with their ‘us’ moments. On May 9, 2020, Varun and Divya had come up with a new challenge. Varun had taken to his Instagram handle and had shared a video of ‘My Head Challenge’. Along with the video, Varun had cautioned the viewers to take the challenge at their own risk and had written, “Try this at your own risk! @divyaagarwal_official went hard!! #myheadchallenge.” (Recommended Read: The Story About How Asim Riaz And Himanshi Khurana Become 'AsiManshi' For Life)
Talking about their love story, Divya is head-over-heels in love with Varun and had revealed that he is her support system. While confirming the news of dating Varun, Divya in an interview with SpotboyE had shared, "Well yes, we are a couple now. We are very much dating. I am glad that I am holding his hand and fighting the world. Our relationship will only get bigger and better and we plan to take it to the next level soon. It will just not stick for fun. Though we haven't discussed all this, I can tell you that we are serious about each other.” (Don't Miss: Suhana Khan's Belly Dance Instructor Shares Pictures Of The Starkid Before And During Lockdown)
