However, the experience wasn't smooth for her as recently Divyanka shared how hosting a real-life crime based show took a toll on her mental health.
Divyanka Tripathi recently appeared with her husband, Vivek Dahiya, on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa's podcast. During the conversation, the actress recalled her experience of hosting Crime Patrol's special edition on 'Women Against Crime'. She revealed that she used to ask the show's team to share complete stories of real-life crime cases showcased on the show. However, gradually knowing about them began to take a toll on her mental health. In her words:
"Main Crime Patrol anchor kar rahi thi. Kafi sare episodes the, Women Against Crime ka ka ek segment tha. Mera condition tha ki sirf anchoring nahi karungi, mujhe kahani bhi jaanani hai. Ab har baar pata chalta ki main kahaani jaanu, wahan ladki ghar se nikli haste khelte aur kuch ho gaya. Har kahani pe woh horror tha.”
Divyanka added that after learning about the stories she used to think deeply about how a regular day for a girl ended with a horror. Later, she began to have nightmares about the same. Moroever, the actress mentioned that the next morning, she used to wake up with headaches and go to shoot again. Consequently, all this went on for three to four months. Her husband, Vivek, added that to avoid these situations, it is significant for actors to learn how to switch off emotionally from their on-screen characters. Recalling her time shooting the show, Divyanka said:
“Pata chalta ki main anchoring ke script padhte padhte raat ko mujhe nightmares aa rahe hain, aur next din main headache leke pahunch rahi hoon shoot pe. That happened for 3–4 months, and it affected me."
Fans admire Divyanka Tripathi for her honesty, and the actress has never shied away from expressing her true feelings through her statements. Previously, the actress stirred up a debate when she questioned why working on TV is only about doing daily soaps and asked the viewers to watch her hosting Crime Patrol. She penned:
"TV par hone ka matlab daily soap karna hi kyun hota hai? Jab comedy shows karti thi tab bhi yeh sunti thi. Yeh funda kabhi samajh hi nahi aaya mujhe! Acchhi news ke liye thank you. Par Kabhi waqt nikaal kar Crime Patrol pe meri anchoring dekhiye. Suna hai, acchha kar rahi hoon.”
Divyanka Tripathi began her career by anchoring on All India Radio. She made her acting debut in a telefilm for Doordarshan and later presented a show called Akash Vani. However, the actress got her breakthrough by playing the lead role in Banoo Main Teri Dulhann.
