According to the Toronto Star, the hospital confirmed getting several U.S.-based donations accompanied by notes referencing the pitcher. On Reddit, one Blue Jays fan shared his feelings on the occasion, starting another wave of kindness, that proved how compassion can transcend boundaries. Sharing his appreciation, he penned"

"Jays' fan here. I just saw an article by the Toronto Star mentioning that a number of you donated to SickKids, and I wanted to thank you all! Class act and to one of my personal favourite charities! I appreciate your continued donations and love you guys for this. They do amazing work, and I can personally attest to their work as one of their patients growing up! It was a great and memorable series, even though we were on the losing end,, and y'allyou all are awesome. See you next year."

Alex Vesia and Kayla opened up about losing their daughter in an emotional post 

The outpouring of love and support was a result of Alex Vesia and his wife, Kayla's, unimaginable loss. The couple's daughter, Sterling Sol, passed away just two days after the Dodgers announced Alex's exit from the World Series 2025. Sharing a deeply heartbreaking post, the couple wrote:

"Our beautiful daughter went to heaven on Sunday, October 26th. There are no words to describe the pain we're going through, but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her. Our little angel, we love you forever & you're with us always."
