Donald Glover and Michelle White kept their relationship under wraps and also got married quietly

Everything about Donald's relationship with Michelle has been extremely low-key. Although their relationship became public nearly 10 years ago, they have been assumed to be partners for over a decade. In 2016, Donald and Michelle were revealed to be dating when they were spotted on a trip in Hawaii. She was also clearly pregnant with their first child. A year later, the actor stated that he did not believe in love. But, in 2019, he referred to Michelle as his wife in an interview. 

Like their relationship, their wedding ceremony was also a quiet affair. Donald mentioned the situation around his wedding to The Hollywood Reporter and revealed that it was a spontaneous decision. The Community actor said:

"There was a day where I don’t think we had to be on set until noon or 1, so, I was like, 'Can we get married today?' I got married in the morning.We had a real wedding afterwards, too. That night, though, we went to our favorite restaurant, and then her parents and my mom were waiting for us at the house."

Donald Glover and his wife, Michelle White, are parents to three boys 

Donald and Michelle were first spotted together in 2016, when she was pregnant with their first son. His name is Legend, and Donald dedicated a song to his baby boy while performing at the Governor's Ball. In 2018 and again in 2020, the couple welcomed another baby boy. However, in a GQ interview, Donald revealed that as parents to three boys, he and Michelle have been talking about having a girl and also considering adoption as a possible option.

Donald Glover was deeply inspired by everyday moments of his own marriage with Michelle while creating the Amazon Prime series, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Donald shared that many of the funny stories and fight scenes shown in the series are based on his married life. He was quoted as saying:

“There's a lot of scenes that are kind of just taken from my life. You know my wife's hair is like, it's not kinky, it's long and I was in the shower and I was like, ‘What the hell is this?' Because she likes to take it and put it on the shower walls. I was like, ‘Yeah I think we have rats or something.’ I said that to her as a joke but like I really didn't know."

Donald Glover's stroke, hole in heart hole diagnosis, and other recent health scares

Donald, who performs under the stage name Childish Gambino, revealed after a year the reason behind why he had cut his New World Tour 2024 short. The singer shared that in the middle of the tour, he developed pain in his head and couldn't see well. A visit to the doctor revealed to him that he had suffered a stroke. After this, one health scare after another followed him. Childish Gambino stated:

"I was having lots of fun, really loving seeing you guys out there, and I had a really bad pain in my head in Louisiana. I did the show anyway. I couldn't really see well, so when we went to Houston, I went to the hospital, and the doctor was like, 'You had a stroke'. I've broken my foot. I always promise Ireland I'm gonna be there, and I still haven't been, and they found a hole in my heart, so I had to do surgery, and then I had to have another surgery."
