Canadian rapper-singer, Drake, has been facing plastic surgery accusations for quite some years now. Every time he posts a shirtless pic, in an attempt to flaunt his chiselled physique, it sparks discussions among fans about whether he went under the knife. He recently opened up about a selfie he posted months ago that sparked controversy on social media. While some people admired his toned physique, others accused him of not having a natural body.
During an appearance on Bobbi Althoff's podcast, Not This Again, Drake addressed rumours of getting work done on his body. The issue stemmed from a June 2025 mirror selfie that showcased his well-defined six-pack abs and flaunted his arm and chest tattoos. It sparked online discussions about the IDGAF singer having undergone an 'abdominal etching' procedure. For the uninitiated, it is a specialised cosmetic procedure that utilises liposuction to achieve the appearance of a sculpted, athletic abdomen.
The host, Bobbi Althoff, shared the rapper's fans' curiosity regarding him, saying, 'People think you got a procedure done.' However, Drake debunked the speculations in his signature humorous way, mentioning the widespread rumours about him getting a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift). He stated:
"People also say that I got a BBL. They call me 'BBL Drizzy.' I don't know if my wagon looked crazy when I walked in here".
Although Drake refuted the plastic surgery rumours, he admitted to digitally altering his photos through editing apps like Facetune. His admission came after months of rumours, which were fuelled by rapper, Metro Boomin releasing a diss track on Drake, implicating him in the BBL allegations. It convinced the internet that there was some truth to the speculations about Drake's body not being entirely natural. Regarding editing his viral pic, the rapper said:
"I think it was just like I came from the gym. I was sweaty in that pic. Maybe I like went on Facetune and, like, put, like, details up, you know? When you can like make it. Sorry just being honest!"
Regarding the June 2025 picture that created so much noise, Drake confessed to being a bit heavy-handed with the editing, recalling having heightened the saturation and doing some other editing. After the host seemed a little surprised by his confession, the One Dance singer laughed it off, saying he was 'just being honest'. Owning up to the digital enhancements, Drake said:

"Yeah, I was, like, maybe I, like, heightened the, like, saturation or something on it. I think I like hit it too hard. I hit it too hard. Yeah, they don't look like that."
The original beat of the song, BBL Dizzy, was an AI-generated track created by comedian King Willonius. It was inspired by a rumour started by rapper Rick Ross that Drake had gotten a Brazilian butt lift. During a feud with Drake, Metro Boomin acquired the beat and released his own version on May 5, 2024. He dropped its instrumental version on SoundCloud and challenged artists to rap over it for a USD 10,000 prize and a free beat from him.
It was Metro Boomin's direct response to Drake's diss track, Family Matters, in which the latter insulted the former. The beat went viral on social media platforms like TikTok, and in a surprising move, Drake later rapped over the BBL Drizzy beat himself on the song, U My Everything with Sexyy Red.
