Canadian Rapper, Drake has recently released the first single from his upcoming album, Iceman. For the unversed, Drake recently did a live stream on his YouTube channel and talked about his new album, Iceman. The rapper also surprised his fans by dropping the first single, What Did I Miss from his upcoming album, Iceman. However, one thing that caught fans’ attention was that there were some lines in the track that were particularly aimed at Kendrick Lamar. Since 2013, the duo has been involved in a feud and is in no mood to solve it.
On the night of July 4, 2025, Drake did a livestream on his YouTube channel and was seen driving a van on the streets of Toronto, Canada. The van was covered with merchandise and branding showcasing his upcoming album, Iceman, all over it. In the livestream, Drake rapped about his personal life and talked about the people attached to his life. However, not much information was available about his new album, Iceman, but when the camera panned to the rear side of the van, a phone number and a website called The-Iceman.com were featured.
The biggest revelation from the livestream was the release of his new single, What Did I Miss. The new track is the first single from his upcoming album, Iceman. What Did I Miss is a classic mix of rap and verse wrapped up in Drake's signature style. However, there was one verse in the track: I saw bro in the Pop Out with them but been d***riding gang since Headlines," that caught the fans' attention. Through the 'Pop Out' reference, it was pretty evident that the Canadian rapper took a subtle dig at American rapper, Kendrick Lamar, as in June 2024, the latter announced a concert titled The Pop Out: Ken & Friends.
Ever since the first single was released on July 5, 2025, fans gave mixed reactions to the newly released track. Lauding Drake, one fan wrote, "Drake Raps Better Than Kendrick and makes better music you all can’t handle that convo." After understanding Drake’s subtle dig at Kendrick in the first single from Iceman, one user wrote commented, "I can’t lie…the bars are real talk." Another fan wrote, "Unfortunately for the haters this is a banger." Giving a mixed reaction, a user commented, "Great production but good god he’s been doing this flow since CLB(Certified Lover Boy, an album of Drake)."

Canadian rapper, Drake and American rapper, Kendrick Lamar began their journey on a good note. However, in 2013, Kendrick’s verse on Big Sean’s Control didn’t sit well with Drake, as the former dissed the latter along with many other rappers. Following the feud, Kendrick claimed that his verse was nothing but a friendly competition. The controversy reached another scale in 2023, when rapper, J. Cole claimed that he, Drake and Kendrick were the big three in modern hip-hop, in his and Drake’s song, First Person Shooter.
Later, in 2024, Kendrick dismissed the claims and took the entire credit, stating the top spot in hip hop was "just big me". After taking a series of digs at each other, on May 3, 2025, Drake released a diss track, Family Matters, accusing Kendrick of domestic abuse. The feud escalated when Kendrick counter-attacked the Canadian rapper through the Grammy-winning track, Not Like Us, accusing him of pedophilia. For the uninitiated, Kendrick received five Grammy Awards for Not Like Us.
