Druski Looks Unrecognisable Wearing A Whiteface At NASCAR Race, Netizens Say, 'Jester Privilege...'

Druski, born Andrew Desbordes, is a well-known comedian. He rose to fame for his skits on social media, stand-up comedy and hilarious podcast appearances with fellow comedians like Theo Von or Tom Segura. The comedian began his career in 2017 by posting comedic skits on his Instagram handle. However, this time his skit took him to the NASCAR Cup Series race, and the internet can't contain itself.

It was during the weekend's NASCAR Cup Series race that Druski caught the audience's attention without being noticed at all. Apparently, the comedian dressed as a white man at this past weekend’s Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, hanging out on pit road, dressed in full whiteface, complete with chest tattoos, a mullet, and overalls, as he played a southern redneck.

In the video, which has now gone viral online, Druski can be seen delivering a vulgar toast alongside other NASCAR fans, inviting a woman to share a cigarette. She was even seen sitting on his lap and even questioned a black fan who was on his way into the race. During the national anthem, the comedian stood alongside Ty Gibbs with his hat over his heart, while the driver looked to be struggling to contain his laughter.

And after the green flag waved, Druski apparently moved into the stands to watch alongside his fellow rednecks. The video has since garnered significant attention worldwide. However, while some took the skit in good humour, others found it extremely offensive. They were not impressed by the stereotypical southern redneck image associated with NASCAR. For the unversed, the racial debate and related crime have been a massive topic across the globe for the last decade, making Druski's humour unwelcome by some sections.

Internet reacts to the video

Soon enough, the video was flooded with comments. A user penned, "Druski just out here doing white face is wild." Another commented, "Your makeup artist needs some sort of award." The video also started a debate about white people doing blackface, as users wondered, "Now don't get sensitive when white folk do black face, you just have them the green light." Another said, "So are we allowed to do black face again?"

However, some people were not happy about the skit. A user penned, "That sh*t about jesters privilege is so real, because what you mean the nascar co-signed a video about how their fans are racist white trash just because druski is the one that made it? Lmfao." Another wrote, "Notice how no white folk acted like you were? And WHY did you spit at the feet of black people?  I wish you would go back and ask them how many times that happened that day -- you treated them worse than any white person did, I assure you. Always have to invent racism."
