Theatre artist and actor Varun Kulkarni is known for taking on roles in various plays, commercial advertisements, and films such as Dunki. However, the talented performer is currently going through a challenging time as he is fighting for his life in a Mumbai hospital. Varun is reportedly suffering from kidney ailments, and with his medical bills piling up, his concerned friend and actor, Roshan Shetty, reached out to his peers and fans for financial help via social media.
On January 21, 2024, actor Roshan Shetty took to his Instagram handle with a shocking update about Dunki actor Varun Kulkarni's health condition. Roshan included several photos of Varun lying in a hospital bed as he underwent dialysis, revealing that the latter was dealing with severe kidney issues. Talking about how they had been struggling to raise funds for Varun's statement, Roshan penned:
"My dear friend and theatre co-artist, Varun Kulkarni, is currently battling severe kidney issues. Despite our previous efforts to raise funds, the expenses for his treatment continue to mount. He requires dialysis 2–3 times a week, along with regular medical care and emergency hospital visits. Just two days ago, Varun was rushed to the hospital for an emergency dialysis session."
Roshan Shetty heartbreakingly lauded his ailing friend, Varun Kulkarni, calling him 'a brilliant artist' as well as a 'kind and selfless human being.' Roshan revealed that Varun lost his parents at a very young age and became a painstakingly self-made individual ever since. Come what may, Varun refused to give up on his passion for theatre.
However, Roshan noted that the path Varun chose was often laden with financial challenges, which is why he needed the support of all who adore him. Roshan wrote in his caption:

Another penned, "He is a brilliant actor and a gem of a guy. Wishing him a speedy recovery." On the work front, Varun has been seen in shows like Scam 1992 and Family Man besides Dunki.
