After a dramatic semifinal elimination of Whitney Leavitt from Dancing with the Stars 34, the competition is all heated up for the grand finale. Now, the race to win the title is between the top five couples who have secured their seat in the high-pressure Week 11. It leaves fans with the one biggest question near the finale: Who will leave the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy? As we await to see the showdown, here is what you can expect from the grand finale on November 25, 2025.
One thing we know for sure is, Dancing with the Stars' finale is not going to be short of a spectacle. According to ABC, the three-hour episode will push the contestants harder than ever. In turn, they will need to perform three dances each. One will be a Judges' Choice, an Instant Dance Challenge and the show-stopping Freestyle round. Meanwhile, the top five couples remaining in the final race were Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, Robert Irwin and Whitney Carson, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten and Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa. They will battle it out on the ballroom floor, from what the network calls "the most demanding finale yet".

The night will open with a group performance of Never Can Say Goodbye by The Communards, choreographed by Joey Pizzi. From there, every couple will perform their Judges' Choice routine, coached by Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli. Next will be the Instant Dance Challenge, which ABC describes as the ultimate test of improvisation. It will require the contestants to learn dance styles and songs minutes before their performances and perform them live. Lastly, the Freestyle round is traditionally the moment where contestants go big, and we can expect to see everything from Rihanna to Lewis Capaldi featured in the final performances. According to ABC's press release, Season 33 champions, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, will also return for a special routine set to Tanguera.

While many fans eagerly await the winner of Season 34, others are curious about the show's future. The Wrap recently reported that Season 34 has brought in the show's strongest numbers in six years. The November 11 episode got 6.67 million live-plus-same-day views. The spike in ratings even made the former host of the show, Tom Bergeron, return as a guest judge and request that ABC revive the results show format. He told The Wrap:
"This show is setting ratings records again, so next season will bring back the results."

Although ABC has yet to officially confirm it, the show's rising popularity has hinted at a likely renewal. Previously, the renewal for Season 34 was announced in April 2025, five months before the premiere, and fans expect a similar thing. If the season is renewed, Dancing with the Stars Season 35 will likely follow the usual schedule and premiere in September 2026. Moreover, it may continue to hold the Tuesday night slot following the pattern of the previous 3 seasons.
