And no, we are not talking about the super-expensive and painful blackhead-busting products available in the market. Natural ingredients in their purest form are the safest and the best way to get rid of blackheads. They are easily available in your kitchen pantry and take less than five minutes of your time to make the right pack. Let us see what they are below:
#1. Zesty cinnamon mask
The antibacterial properties of cinnamon and honey prevent the pores of your skin from clogging. Not only that, they also reduce inflammation and increas sebum production caused by the microbes, thus preventing further blackheads. As cinnamon can be a little drying for your skin, honey is added for a moisturising effect.
How to make the face pack:
- Mix 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder with 1 tablespoon of raw honey, preferably Manuka honey for maximum benefits.
- Blend them well and apply a thin layer of paste to the affected areas.
- Place a clean cotton strip over it and gently press it.
- Leave it for 10-15 minutes and then remove the cotton strip.
- Wash your face with lukewarm water.
#2. Nourishing egg white mask
Egg white is very effective in tightening pores, which will not only remove your current blackheads but also reduce the chances of future blackheads. It is also rich in proteins and other minerals that promote wrinkle-free skin.
How to make a face pack:
- Take an egg and separate the yolk from the egg white.
- Collect the egg white in a small bowl and apply it to your face.
- Consider applying three layers of egg white on your skin, but only when the first layer is dry enough.
- Let it sit for at least 15 minutes and rinse with cool water.
- You can also add ½ teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of raw honey to it.

#3. Rejuvenating green tea mask
Green tea is full of phytonutrients and antioxidants that can help remove blackheads to a great extent. In addition to that it would also provide your skin with antioxidants and moisturise it.
How to make a face pack:
- Brew some loose green tea leaves for about 45 minutes to an hour.
- Strain the water and place it in the fridge to let it cool.
- If you don’t have loose green tea leaves at home, you can substitute it with green tea bags placed in a container of boiled water for an hour.
- Take the chilled liquid and dip a cotton ball into it.
- Dab the wet cotton ball over the blackheads and let it sit for 20 minutes.
- Wash it off with lukewarm water.
#4. Purifying oatmeal mask
Oatmeal makes an excellent ingredient for scrubbing dead skin cells away from skin. It also removes bacteria and excessive oil. Oatmeal scrub is also safe for almost all skin types-sensitive, irritated or dry.
How to make a face pack:
- Combine two tablespoons of fresh oatmeal with three tablespoons of yoghurt.
- Apply it all over the affected areas or you can even apply it all over your face.
- Let the combination sit on your face for about five to ten minutes, then rinse with fresh cool water.
#5. Tangy tomato mask
Tomatoes are high in vitamin C, vitamin A and citric acid. The acid in tomatoes removes excess oil while vitamin nourishes your skin.
How to make a face pack:
- This is the easiest mask you can make at home.
- Take a medium-size tomato and mash it with a fork or your hand.
- You can also grind it in a mixer if you want.
- Apply the mashed tomato on your face or over the blackheads, and gently rub the area for 2 minutes.
- Leave it for 15 minutes before washing it off with cold water.
Things to keep in mind:
- If your skin is dry, add some extra virgin olive oil to the tomato mask. It will make your skin soft.
- Natural remedies are best to stop blackheads from recurring, however, consistency is the key. You might not see immediate results, but after a few weeks, your skin would be free of the blackheads.
- Blackheads tend to clog the pores. Before applying any face pack, if you take facial steam for a few seconds, it will soften and loosen up your pores making it much easier for the ingredients to work and get rid of the blackheads.
We hope that these quick and easy home remedies may be of some use to you and your beauty. Just keep patience and trust for a while and you will get the desired results.
