'Emily In Paris' Season 5 Trailer, Emily Finds Love Again In Rome, But Fans Ask, 'Where's Gabriel?'

Emily in Paris, starring Lilly Collins in the titular role, is one of the most beloved series on Netflix. Ardently following the adventures of 'Emily Cooper' through four seasons, fans have been eagerly waiting to see what season 5 has in store for them. The wait is finally over as the trailer for Emily in Paris season 5 was just dropped. However, there's a catch this time. 'Emily' will be navigating her love life in Rome, Italy. 

Emily in Paris season 5 trailer shows new adventures and romance for 'Emily Cooper' in Rome 

After going through many upheavals since relocating from the U.S.A. to Paris, France, 'Emily Cooper' had finally learned the ways of the Parisians. Although it took her a lot of time, personal losses, heartbreaks, and risky career moves to get there. However, in Emily in Paris season 5, she will be spreading her wings again and trying to conquer Rome, Italy. 'Emily Cooper' has moved on with both her personal and professional life, as seen in the newly launched trailer. Played by Lilly Collins, the protagonist will be navigating her new job with the 'Agence Grateau' and also exploring chemistry with her current leading man, 'Marcello'. 

Creator of the show, Darren Star, had earlier stated to Netflix that although the upcoming season will focus heavily on the Italian cities of Rome and Venice, Paris isn't entirely out of 'Emily's' life. The creator described it as a 'tale of two cities'. Meanwhile, talking about her on-screen character's new romance with 'Marcello', Lilly Collins shared:

"Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance. We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”

Has 'Emily' left the French chef, 'Gabriel' for the Italian businessman, 'Marcello'? Fans react to the first look of Emily in Paris season 5 

'Emily's complicated and tangled romance with the French chef, 'Gabriel', played by Lucas Bravo, has been a significant part of the storyline throughout seasons 1 to 4. However, the trailer of season 5 only showed her new love interest, 'Marcello', played by Eugenio Franceschini. As a result, people have are asking if 'Gabriel' is going to be part of the show or not. Many netizens flooded the comment section of Netflix with questions about the trailer, such as, "Where is Gabriel??". Another user also said, "I can’t wait but where’s Gabriel? There’s no Emily in Paris without Gabriel TF". A third commentor asked, "Where is the chef!? My sole reason to watch this??"

Apart from Lilly Collins, the main cast who will be returning with the upcoming season are Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, and more. Hence, although the first look did not feature 'Gabriel', fans can rest assured that the relationship between the chef and 'Emily' will still be shown in season 5.
