Emmy Awards 2025 Faces Backlash Over Skipping Hulk Hogan, Tony Todd And Polly Holliday In Memoriam

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards celebrated some of the biggest TV series while acknowledging the actors and actresses. Just like every year, this year's Emmy Awards paid tributes to some of the late actors who passed away last year. Well, the memoriam segment has sparked anger among the viewers as it reportedly left out some legends. The show was hosted on Sunday, September 14, 2025, and the memoriam segment was introduced by Phylicia Rashad. At the segment, Lainey Wilson and Vince Gill performed Go Rest High on the Mountain, as the faces of the late actors filled the screens.

People expressed their anger as Emmys reportedly didn't mention some of the greatest actors during the memoriam segment

While it was an emotional moment as the beloved late actors were paid tribute, what grabbed the attention and sparked anger was the fact that some famous personalities who had passed away didn't appear on the screens, thereby not being included in the Emmys' memoriam. The actors who were remembered were Maggie Smith, John Amos, Loretta Swit, and Ozzy Osbourne. Well, Hulk Hogan and Tony Todd were not mentioned during the meomiram. Along with them, reportedly, the names of Danielle Spencer, Leslie Charleson, and Jerry Adler were not mentioned, which sparked anger among viewers. People have started discussing the same on X (Twitter).

Another user wrote, "Tony Todd did some great television. Multiple Star Trek appearances and The X-Files. This is outrageous." A third user angrily penned. "No Hulk Hogan remembrance? Crazy."
