Erika Kirk Was 'Praying To God' To Be Pregnant When Charlie Kirk Was Killed, Says, 'Please Don't..'

And now, his wife, Erika Kirk, has spoken up about how their lives changed because of that one unfateful day. During a conversation with Megyn Kelly, the CEO of Turning Point USA has reflected on the pain and loss Charlie's death caused them.

Erika Kirk reflects on praying to God that she was pregnant

Turning Point USA CEO, Erika Kirk, sat for a candid conversation with Megyn Kelly. She revealed that she was "praying to God," hoping she was pregnant, when her husband, conservative activist, Charlie Kirk, was shot and killed in September 2025. Erika made an appearance for an interview with Megyn Kelly on November 21, 2025, as a part of her final stop of Megyn Kelly's recent tour in Glendale, Arizona. 

While the full interview has not been posted yet, Megyn Kelly shared a preview of her conversation with Erika Kirk. The preview of their conversation was shared on The Megyn Kelly Show's X account on November 23, 2025 (ET). In the clip, Megyn mentions Charlie Kirk and Erika Kirk's two children and shared, "You told me this in private — How many kids did you want to have?" Erika, who was visibly emotional, responded by saying:

"We wanted to have four. And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered."

Erika Kirk's advice to young women as she reflects on her own life

In the same online preview, Erika Kirk can also be seen saying she wished she were pregnant when Charlie Kirk passed away. Erika revealed that it would have been a blessing if it were true. However, now when she sees young couples, she always tells them not to put it off, as life is extremely uncertain. An emotional Erika was quoted as saying:

"I know. I was like, oh, goodness, that was going to be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe. So, now when I see young couples, I tell them, 'Please, don't put it off.' Especially if you're a young woman. Don't put it off, you can always have a career, you can always, you know, go back to work. You can never just go back to having children. And they grow so fast and so quickly, but I just, I was praying. Both of us were. We were just excited to expand our family."

Megyn Kelly shares a message for Charlie Kirk's children

The revelation left the event heavy and emotional. Megyn Kelly further thanked God that Erika and Charlie had two kids. She added that one day the children will grow up and realise what it means to be the kids of Charlie Kirk. The audience applauded as the host stated:

"One day, they'll find out. Right now they're just little loves. But one day they'll find out that they're Charlie Kirk's children and they'll know what that means."

What happened to Charlie Kirk?

For the unversed, American conservative political activist, Charlie Kirk lost his life in a tragic incident at just 31 years of age. He was fatally shot while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Police charged 22-year-old Tyler Robinson with Charlie's murder after the former turned himself in to authorities.
