After embracing motherhood, some women put their careers on hold and take a sabbatical, some strive hard in balancing their work and baby post maternity leaves. In the entertainment industry, celeb moms are often questioned if they would return to acting post embracing motherhood. Ever since Esha Deol Takhtani became a mother to two adorable angels, Radhya Takhtani and Miraya Takhtani, she took a break from acting.

However, Esha Deol Takhtani made a comeback with a short film, Cakewalk, in 2019, after the birth of her firstborn, Radhya Takhtani. Then during her second pregnancy, Esha ventured into another career path and had written a book on her experiences of motherhood. Esha's fans were eagerly waiting for her to make her comeback and after lots of speculations, the actress announced her next project.
Announcing her next project, which will be her debut on the OTT platform along with her Yuva co-star, Ajay Devgn, Esha Deol Takhtani wrote, "Happy to share with you all that I am returning in front of the arc lights opposite Ajay @ajaydevgn who has been a fabulous co-star to me in many films, in the web series - "Rudra - The Edge of Darkness"." Welcoming Esha aboard, Ajay tweeted, "Happy to share the news that @Esha_Deol will be joining the journey of Rudra - The Edge Of Darkness. Welcome aboard Esha."
Speaking about her role and collaboration for the web series, Rudra - The Edge of Darkness, Esha Deol Takhtani was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama, "I am really happy to collaborate with Applause and BBC Studios for Rudra – The Edge of Darkness on Disney+ Hotstar VIP. As an actor, I believe in working on projects that would let me explore something new and engage me as a viewer as well. This series is a fresh take on the quintessential cop drama, with a grey overtone, something which has not been explored in the Indian context before. I am charged up for my digital debut with this one and I am looking forward to working with Ajay Devgn after a long time."

Earlier, the reports were rife that Esha Deol Takhtani would replace Toral Rasputra in Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi and essay the role of Rani Samridhi Devi in the show, who happens to be the mother of Maa Vaishno Devi. However, her team had later released an official statement, clarifying the reports to be untrue.
Esha Deol Takhtani has been working hard to get back to her toned self. Revealing the details about her comeback, Esha was earlier quoted as saying by Pinkvilla, "By the grace of God I am getting good work offers and I am so ready to face the camera again! Also staying fit is always a top priority for me so I have lost all the weight I needed to and am back to my toned self. I have been reading many scripts. I have already finished working on one project and currently, I am busy with the prep work of my next which will start by mid of this year and I am really excited about it."

On the work front, Esha Deol Takhtani was last seen on the silver screens in the film, Kill Them Young in 2015.
