Esha Deol 'Painfully Misses' Dad, Dharmendra On His 90th Birth Anniversary, Pens An Emotional Note

The He-Man of Bollywood, Dharmendra, breathed his last on November 24, 2025, leaving behind his grief-stricken family. Dharmendra’s death came as a shock to many, and his family has been standing strong by remembering the veteran actor and his teachings. On his 90th birthday, his daughter, Esha Deol, penned an emotional note, saying she misses her papa.

On December 8, 2025, Dharmendra would have turned 90, and now his daughter, Esha Deol, penned an emotional note remembering her late father. Taking to her IG handle, Esha posted a series of pictures with Dharmendra and revealed that she ‘painfully misses’ him. An excerpt from her note can be read as:

“To my darling Papa, We are always together papa. Be it heaven or earth. We are one. For now I have very tenderly, carefully & preciously tucked you in my heart… deep deep inside to carry on with me for the rest of this lifetime. I so painfully miss you papa… your warm protective hugs that felt like the cosiest blanket, holding your soft yet strong hands which had unspoken messages and your voice calling out my name that followed with endless conversations, laughter & shayaris. I love you papa
Your darling daughter, Your Esha, your Bittu.”

Hema Malini revealed that Dharmendra’s final days were traumatising

Dharmendra’s fan and acquaintance, Hamad Al Reyami, a resident of the UAE, was very close to the late actor. Taking to his IG handle, Hamad shared a picture with Hema as he visited her to pay his condolences to the family. Penning his conversation with Hema, Hamad revealed Dharmendra’s last days, as Hema Malini had. She shared:

“But what happened was mercy... Because Hamad you couldn’t bear to see him like that. His final days were cruel... Hurtful... And even we can barely bear to see it like that.”

Why were Dharmendra's last rites rushed?

Despite being one of the most loved and renowned celebrities, Dharmendra didn’t get any state honours. The news of Dharmendra's passing made headlines around 1 P.M. on November 24, 2025. By the time the family was already preparing for the last rites, it did not give his fans a chance to pay their respects to the immensely loved actor.

As soon as the news broke, Dharmendra's daughter, Esha Deol, and his second wife, Hema Malini, were spotted at the Pawan Hans crematorium located in Vile Parle. The death was confirmed around 1:30 PM, and by 3 PM, the last rites were finished. Many reports suggested that Dharmendra's family decided against the state honour, opting for a more private farewell for the actor.
