In a conversation with ETimes, Esha Deol was asked if she gets inspired to balance work and motherhood from Kareena Kapoor Khan. She revealed that her inspiration is her mom, Hema Malini as she was pregnant with her and was still working at that time. She said, “In this time and age, it is Kareena who has set an example, but for me… I have grown up watching my mom work every single day. So, when it comes to balancing personal and professional life it is my mother who I look up to. She worked even when she was pregnant with me!”

Esha also mentioned that her debut film was Satte Pe Satta as Hema Malini was pregnant with her while shooting for the film. She mentioned other actresses too, who had worked in that era while they were pregnant. She added, “Yes, and also Razia Sultan as she was pregnant when shooting these film projects. It is quite commendable as she also did horse riding for the film even when she was pregnant. Same was the case with Dimple aunty (Kapadia). So I am sure during that time they were talked about too.”

She added that in her mother’s era and even now, women have been acing the act of balancing motherhood and professional life. Sharing how her mom, Hema Malini is her source of inspiration, Esha concluded, “They have set an example in that era for actively working and taking care of their kids. Likewise, today there are so many women from the industry who do that. It’s great to find a balance between motherhood and art. So if I have to turn to someone for inspiration, I have a living example at home, who I can learn from.”
On the professional front, Esha Deol’s film, Ek Duaa was released on Voot Select a few weeks ago.
