Esha Deol Spoke About Sunny Deol Being A 'Father Figure', 'I Know The World Talks About Our...'

November 24, 2025, marked the end of an era as the iconic actor, Dharmendra, bid adieu to the world, leaving a legacy behind. Born in Nasrali, a village in Ludhiana district, Punjab, back in 1935, Dharmendra hailed from a humble background. In a career spanning 65 years, Dharmendra worked in over 300 films, setting the record for starring in the most hit films.

Talking about his personal life, the veteran actor married Prakash Kaur while he was still trying to make a foothold in the film industry. The couple then became parents to Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeeta Deol, and Ajeeta Deol. Soon, Dharmendra fell in love with Hema Malini, but he wasn't ready to leave or divorce Prakash. Without divorcing Prakash, Dharmendra married Hema, and soon they welcomed two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.

Out of Dharmendra’s six children, Sunny, Bobby, and Esha followed his footsteps and stepped into Bollywood. Over the years, there have been a lot of speculations about Esha and Ahana’s bond with her half-brothers, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. However, Esha once spoke about her bond with them in a throwback interview with Jansatta.

The actress revealed how people have a lot of interest in their family dynamics. Heaping praises on her half-brothers, Esha revealed that the Deol family doesn't believe in showing off their relationship. Calling Sunny a ‘father figure’, she said:

“I don’t need to tell the world about the relationship between myself and my half-brothers. I know the world talks about our relationships in different ways. But the Deol family members do not want to show off their relationships. Sunny Bhaiya is very innovative and a very good person at heart too. I treat him like a father. Bobby bhaiyya’s behavior is also very good, but he is a bit reserved."

There have been many speculations about an alleged feud between Dharmendra’s son, Sunny, and Bobby with Hema Malini’s daughters, Esha and Ahana. However, Esha Deol put an end to it after she hosted a special screening of her stepbrother, Sunny Deol's, film Gadar 2 at her house. The actress even shared a picture of herself posing with her siblings, and everyone was stunned by how good and happy they looked.

In an interview with News18 Showsha, Hema Malini opened up about her daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, and their reunion with Dharmendra's sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Expressing her happiness about the same, Hema shed some light on the current dynamics between the two families and said:

“I am feeling very happy, I do not feel it is something new because it is very normal. Many times they keep coming home and all but we do not publish it anywhere, we are not the type to take pictures and immediately put it up on Instagram. We are not that kind of a family."
