Esha Deol, daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini, fell in love with Bharat Takhtani, who had a crush on her after seeing her during an inter-school competition. While Esha had studied from Jamnabai Narsee School, Juhu, Bharat completed his schooling from Learner's Academy, Bandra and the duo had met during inter-school art competitions. Post dating for some time, Esha and Bharat had parted ways only to reunite after ten years and since then, there has been no looking back.

After a few years of courtship, Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani tied the knot on June 29, 2012, in a low-key ceremony at the ISKCON temple in Mumbai. For the wedding, Esha became the prettiest Tamilian bride in red as she opted for a bright Kanjeevaram saree accentuated with a matching dupatta on her head, heavy gold jewellery and a kamarbandh. Bharat had complemented his bride in a white sherwani with sequinned work on it which he carried with a matching dupatta and a maroon safa.
To mark their ninth wedding anniversary on June 29, 2021, Esha Deol Takhtani posted a black-and-white picture with the love of her life, Bharat Takhtani. To caption the loved-up and smiling picture, Esha wrote, "For keeps for eternity… I do… love you #happyweddinganniversary #thankyouforthewishes #thankyoufortheblessings #eshabharat #anniversary #foreverlove #youandme #love #iloveyou #gratitude #blessings #eternity @bharattakhtani3."
Last year, on their eighth wedding anniversary, Esha Deol Takhtani had posted a picture from their wedding rituals with the caption, "This day many years ago... my forever, my love, together for keeps together for eternity! Love u my BeeTee God bless @bharattakhtani3." On her IG story, Esha had also posted a picture with her cousin brother, Abhay Deol performing the wedding rituals and her parents, Hema Malini and Dharmendra standing by her side.

In a throwback interview with a leading daily, Esha Deol Takhtani had recalled her teenage love story when she gave her phone number to Bharat Takhtani on a piece of tissue paper. Esha had said, "I was in Jamnabai Narsee School, Bharat was studying at Learner's Academy in Bandra. That was one school which had good looking boys in Bandra. We met at the inter-school competition called Cascade which was hosted by my school. I wrote my phone number on a piece of tissue and gave it to him. I had braces back then. I always say he truly loved me with braces on. He found me cute."
Five years after tying the knot, in October 2017, Esha Deol Takhtani and Bharat Takhtani had embraced parenthood with the arrival of their firstborn, Radhya Takhtani. One-and-a-half years later, Radhya became a big sister when Esha and Bharat welcomed their second child, Miraya Takhtani. Esha and Bharat had taken their own sweet time to introduce their daughters to the world and even after that, they prefer keeping the little ones away from the limelight.
