One of the most gorgeous, sensuous and super-talented actresses of the Indian film industry, Esha Gupta needs no introduction. The actress was also the crowned Miss India International in 2007, and on the professional front, she is having quite a run at the movies and web series on the digital platform. Esha Gupta had debuted with the 2012 film, Jannat 2 and was last seen in the movie, One Day: Justice Delivered.
Naturally, being a successful actress with stunning looks, Esha Gupta never fails to mesmerise the audience with her character portrayals on the big screen. However, making big in the Indian film industry was never a cakewalk for the actress, and in her latest interview, Esha Gupta opened up about her experience as a dusky girl in the Indian film industry and how people advised her to take skin whitening injections and to get a nose job.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Esha Gupta recalled her journey in Bollywood as a girl with a dusky complexion and how instead of embracing her true self, people advised her to take colour whitening injections. The actress opened up about the same and said, "When I became an actor, and my first film came, I remember when I used to go to meetings or auditions, people used to say, 'Oh, you should do your colour light or take those injections, which cost a lot of money'. Because a lot of actresses have done that and changed the colour... but I never understood that concept."
Going further in the interview, Esha Gupta clearly stated that she isn't against other people's decision to alter something in their body, but according to her, the decision should come from within that person's heart, and strictly not due to the pressure of society. However, when asked about her take on her own body and features, Esha gave a confident response and said, "I am okay with someone changing his/her nose. I am okay if they get it changed because they don't like it. But I am okay with my body and features."

So far in her acting career in Bollywood, Esha Gupta has done some exceptionally powerful roles that clearly speak about her versatility. However, the Raaz 3: The Third Dimension actress surprisingly revealed that people told her that she would never get that 'girl next door' roles in her career, which is indeed quite funny, as she is one of the hottest actresses of this generation. In her words, "There were also moments when some people told me, 'You will never get that girl next door or cute role'. I am fine with it. I don't even want it, but don't say that it is because of my colour."
In the same interview, Esha Gupta also recalled the time when someone told her to change her nose because it is quite round and not as sharp as that of any other actress. Revealing the completely annoying incident, the actress said, "Someone even told me that I should change my nose because my nose is not sharp like other actresses. My nose is small and round. Initially, it affected me mentally."
Esha Gupta clearly stated that she is in love with her skin tone and revealed the one thing that is one of the prime reasons behind her dusky complexion. The actress recalled an incident from her childhood days and said, "When I was a kid, I wasn't as dark as how much I do today. As a toddler, I took some wrong pills, following which I was hospitalised and had to get a blood transfusion. After that I became very weak and dark."
Going further in the interview, Esha Gupta dug deep into her childhood and recalled how one of her aunts called her 'Kaali Maa' and why it negatively impacted her mentality and shattered her confidence. Esha Gupta said, "I remember one of my aunts used to call me ke Kaali Maa, and I used to get upset about it. My maasi used to question her, and say, 'She is a goddess, so I don't know what you are trying to say'. So, I have always been very conscious about how I look when I was a kid."
At the end of her interview, Esha Gupta talked about how people embraced her skin colour in Spain and added that every time someone asked her how she got this mesmerising skin tone, she proudly answered them that 'it is my Indian skin tone'. The actress said, "It was only during the pandemic that I started working abroad because I was in Spain for a long time. When I used to venture out, everyone would compliment my skin tone, and ask me how I got it, which I realised that it is my Indian skin tone, and that people do love it."
