Sydney Sweeney is definitely controversy's favourite child. She is in the spotlight once again, but for a different reason. Even before the wrap-up of her upcoming show, Euphoria Season 3, the actress was surrounded by controversies. Whether it is alleged new romance with Scooter Braun or the disappointing box office numbers of her highly-awaited film, Christy. According to Variety, Sydney has faced a 'tough PR cycle' and her latest appearance at her upcoming show, Euphoria Season 3's wrap party, has just added more fuel to the fire. Here's why.
According to TMZ, HBO hosted a private wrap party in Los Angeles to celebrate the successful completion of their upcoming show, Euphoria Season 3. However, fans were quick to notice that Sydney Sweeney was the only principal cast Social media posts from inside the event showcased her posing with crew members, while the rest of the crew, such as Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Damie, and Maude Apatow, were nowhere to be seen.

According to reports from Hollywood Unlocked,, Sydney Sweeney looked alone and unusual, despite Euphoria being one of HBO's main franchises. Meanwhile, other outlets such as the Daily Mail pointed out that she had been trying to 'keep the momentum high' after Christy underperformed in the other hand. Some fans online felt that she was trying to gain 'visibility'. One user penned, "No one likes her, Imao". Another user had a contrasting view and commented, "She is the only down-to-earth actor that can hang out with the crew." One can call Sydney out for delivering a string of flogs and mentioned, "This gonna be like Drake and Josh years later when she can only talk about her breakout role in Euphoria and nothing else."

Although Sydney Sweeney was the only A-lister photographed at the wrap party, insiders told Variety that several secondary cast members, such as Chloe Cherry, Nika King, James Landry Hebert, and Daeg Faerch, were present. Meanwhile, the absence of top-tier actors immediately gained the spotlight. However, People magazine reported that many actors were "busy with ongoing projects and no official statement has confirmed any conflict.

It is important to note that the Deadline previously reported that several actors from the first and second seasons will not be a part of the third season. The list includes Barbie Ferreira and Storm Reid. On the other hand, Angus Cloud, who passed away in 2023, was also not there.. Still, as one fan wrote on Reddit, "It's weird that none of the main cast except Sydney showed up; no one else needs it."

According to speculations, the conflict between Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney is not new. But it was filed after their wrap party. According to TMZ, some insiders claim that Zendaya was hesitant to promote the new season of Euphoria with Sydney Sweeney due to multiple controversies, including her alleged political differences with the actress's family. Further, Zendaya even preferred to 'keep her distance' to avoid unnecessary drama. Moreover, it has reignited the old rumours that Sydney is 'too flirty' with Zendaya's fiancé, Tom Holland, during past industry events. Although people have clarified that there is no truth to the rumours, fans still believe it.

Amid all the drama, Euphoria Season 3 is officially in the post-production stage. According to Deadline, filming wrapped up in November 2025,, following multiple delays due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes and the the demise of Angus Cloud. On the other hand, HBO is reportedly aiming for a spring 2026 release with eight episodes. According to Variety, Sydney Sweeney's character 'Cassie' will have a storyline influenced by social media culture, adding a new dimension to the story.
