Born as Conor Angus Cloud Hickey, the actor was well known for his character ‘Fezco O’Neill’ in the popular HBO series, Euphoria. He passed away in Oakland on July 31, 2023, at his family's house. His mother reportedly called 911 and reported a ‘possible overdose’ and said that Angus did not have a pulse. He was later pronounced dead by the officials.
A source close to Angus and his family reported to TMZ that the actor was struggling to cope with his father’s death. Only last week, Angus laid his father down to rest in Ireland. The source also revealed that after coming back from Ireland, Angus was having severe suicidal thoughts as he could not accept the death of his father, who was also his best friend. Angus recently returned to his family house in Oakland to overcome the grief. Angus’s family stated:

"Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

Angus’s most significant break came through HBO’s hit series, Euphoria. Angus played the role of a drug dealer, ‘Fezco O’Neill’, and was the series' male lead. Angus brought life to his character and was one one of the most loved character of the series so much so that viewers even accused him of potraying his real self on-screen. HBO’s spokesperson expressed grief over losing such a talented soul and extended his condolence to his family and friends. The spokesperson further added:
“We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
Euphoria was the debut series of Angus Cloud, before which he had no acting experience. Angus later revealed that the casting director, Eléonore Hendricks, approached him while he was walking down the New York street. Angus, at first, was resistant to accept the offer as he suspected it to be a scam. However, he later visited the office and met the director and creator of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, who then cast him as ‘Fezco O’Neill" alongside actress, Zendaya. Levinson mourned the death of Angus and told the Associated Press:
“He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon, He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God bless his family.”

Euphoria, on multiple occasions, has been accused of glorifying drug use among the teens of America. The last time Angus interacted with the media in March 2023, he talked about these accusations. He clarified that Euphoria is not glorifying drug abuse but presenting today’s brutal reality on screen. The third season of the series is yet to be filmed.
