Is Season 3 Going To Be An End For 'Euphoria'? Zendaya Reveals, 'I Think Closure Is Coming'

The third season of one of the much-loved series, Euphoria, is about to be released in April 2026. The fans had to wait longer for the third season of the series, with the second season being released four years ago. The trailer has already left people extremely excited about the same.

The trailer showed that it won't be something that would begin where it ended off in the last season, rather the characters would be shown in a state where the decisions have already been made, thus they are not stuck in adolescence and rather carry forward with the aftereffects of the actions taken before. Amid this, speculations were rife that season 3 can be the end of the series, Euphoria, and Zendaya, who plays one of the lead roles of the series, 'Rue' spoke about the same.

Will season 3 be the end of Euphoria?

Zendaya recently sat for an interview on Drew Barrymore's podcast, wherein she was asked whether season 3 is the finale of Euphoria. To this, the actress said that she thinks that too, while adding that the closure is near. Zendaya went on to reveal that the show actually cracked her heart open, and her role as 'Rue' taught her a whole lot of things. Zendaya further added that each of the characters on the show had something for her to look into, and it felt like they all grew up together. Sharing that 'Rue' actually taught her a lot about redemption and empathy, Zendaya shared:

"I think so, yeah. I think so. Yeah. Closure is coming! Euphoria cracked my heart open. Rue taught me so much about life. That crew, also, has seen me grow up, I owe so much to that show. Rue taught me so much about empathy and about redemption and… she taught me a lot, and I’m very grateful for all of it."

Euphoria was launched in 2019, with the season airing in 2022, and the audience had to wait four years for season three to come. The delay was caused by several things, including Angus Cloud's death. He was playing the role of 'Fezco', whose role ended in a cliffhanger, which somewhat affected the process.

Apart from Zendaya, Sam Levinson revealed during the premiere that he writes every episode in the show like 'it's an end' and that he has no plans to continue. He also mentioned that he was putting some finishing touches and wants to end strongly. On the other hand, the head of drama at US broadcaster HBO, Francesca Orsi, also hinted that season 3 will be the end of the series. Speaking to Deadline, Francesca Orsi shared:

"We’ve talked about it. I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end. I think you will be very satisfied with this season, and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative."

Euphoria's 3rd season is surely one of the most anticipated ones. If the reports are to be believed, the series has a budget of USD 200 million, making it one of the most expensive projects of HBO. Reportedly, it is going to be something really different from whatever was shown in the series previously. Eric Dane will be seen in the series, which is one of the last projects of the actor, who passed away on February 19, 2026, after his battle with ALS.

Euphoria season 3's trailer featured a glimpse which was consisted of emotional breakdown, fallout, legal trouble, and more, and thus one thing is clear that nothing has been sorted out yet, but rather will be stretched further. However, the audience will have to wait a few more days to dive deep into the possible and speculated final season of the series.
