According to several reports, Jaideep Ahlawat and Jyoti Hooda met at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. The Paatal Lok actor was Jyoti's senior, and they had an open relationship. However, soon after completing the course at FTII, Jaideep told his friends that he would marry Jyoti. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jaideep's close friend, Vijay Varma, opened up about the incident and said the wedding date had been finalised, with everyone excited for Jaideep's wedding.

Vijay revealed that when Jaideep announced his wedding, everyone in his group was broke. However, they arranged money to buy tickets and clothes for his wedding. Vijay admitted that it was a special moment for their group because Jaideep was the first person to get married.

Jaideep Ahlawat and Jyoti Hooda had to postpone their wedding

While Jaideep Ahlawat and his friends were over the moon about the upcoming wedding, the actor had to postpone it. Just weeks before their wedding, Jaideep got the chance to appear in Priyadarshan's film, Khatta Meetha. The film's shoot clashed with Jaideep's wedding date, and the filmmaker asked the actor to shift it by one week. The actor postponed his wedding to Jyoti because it was a major opportunity.

However, all of Jaideep's friends, including Vijay Varma, had booked their train tickets in advance, and when Jaideep told them that he had shifted his wedding, they were heartbroken. They didn't have enough money to repurchase train tickets for the wedding; hence, they couldn't attend Jaideep and Jyoti's rescheduled wedding. Talking about the same, Vijay said during an interview with the Hollywood Reporter:

"We didn't know what to do with our tickets. We were like, ‘dobara toh nahi kharid paayenge’. We knew we had wronged him (Jaideep Ahlawat), and he felt he had wronged us by postponing the wedding."

During an interview with TOI, Jaideep Ahlawat opened up about the spouses of actors, who rarely come into the spotlight but have strongly supported their partners throughout their journey. Sharing how difficult it is to live with an actor, Jaideep revealed that he salutes actors' partners for their patience. However, he also added that he had never let his wife, Jyoti, down as a husband, noting that she has been patient throughout his journey. He was quoted as saying:

"No one knows better than a spouse when an actor is disturbed, worried because of prep, or any other thing that happened on the set. It takes a lot to live with that. I don't think I have ever let Jyoti down as a husband; I've always tried to give it my all."
