People often save money for years to organise dreamy weddings, which often leaves the internet stunned. From a show of fireworks to helicopter entries and choreographed dance performances to a variety of food, every detail is organised to create a memorable experience for guests. Among other such traditions, particularly in some places of North India, there is a trend of adorning the groom with a garland of with cash. However, this trend took a quirky trend when a family rented a garland of not Rs. 11, 000 or Rs. 21, 000 but a startling Rs. 14.5 lakhs. 

Groom gets a garland made with cash worth Rs. 14.5 lakh in Alwar 

Recently, a new case has come to light from Chuhadpur Village in Rajasthan's Bhiwadi where a family arranged an expensive garland for a groom named Aamir. As per tradition, the groom's brother-in-law rented a special garland made with Rs. 500 currency notes. The total amount of notes was nearly Rs. 14.5 lakh, which became a highlight at the wedding, which was held on June 1, 2025.

The garland was rented from a common place in Haryana, where most of the families who follow the practice in Chuharpur rent a garland made with currency notes for the duration of the wedding ceremony. For this particular family, it was delivered by a person named Samsuddin, who hails from Kishangarhbas in Alwar.

Looters take away garland worth Rs. 14.5 lakh at gunpoint 

After everyone praised and talked about the Rs. 14.5 lakh garland for Aamir at his wedding, it was time to return it. So, a person named, Shaad was given the task of taking back the expensive garland to its rightful owners. However, things took an ugly turn when Shaad, who was taking it back on a bike, was stopped by a Creta car. A minor collision took place, and suddenly few masked men stepped out and snatched the garland at gunpoint. Moreover, Shaad was left with a serious head injury. Bhiwadi police arrived at the spot with additional SP Atul Sahu DSP Kailash Chaudhary. They registered the case, and it's being investigated.

Some users raised questions over the flashy displays at weddings and the downsides of such traditional practices on families, while others raised concerns for the bride's family. One person penned, "The Bride's family will have to pay another Rs. 14 lakh. Sad." Another user wrote, "They gave the invitation to loot."
