Sharib Hashmi plays the role of 'JK Talpade' who is a middle class intelligence officer in Manoj Bajpayee starrer, The Family Man Season 3. He is also the best friend of Manoj, who plays the role of Senior Intelligence Officer, 'Srikant Tiwari'. Sharib in the latest season of the series is shown to be going on multiple arranged marriage dates. There's a scene where he matches with a lady on Shaadi.com, and all that she wants is friends with benefits.
When Sharib and Manoj are in jail, in a scene, 'JK' tells 'Srikant', "Tereko kya problem hain? Tune toh jeevan ke saare sukh bhog liye hain naa..pehle biwi, phir bacche…uske pehle girlfriend uske baad mein jhagada…sab akela kon marega…main…single leena single marna isse bada shraap nahi hain life mein." However, do you know our very own 'JK Talpade' is not at all single in his real life. The actor is happily married to Nasreen Hashmi since 2003.

Sharib and Nasreen married in 2003 and back in 2009 he had quit his job of an in-house writer with MTV to try his qismat in movies. In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Sharib shared that he quit work when he got rejected for a role in Dhobi Ghat post finalisation. Sharib wanted to try in movies, did auditions and had the responsibility of his wife and also kid. His savings started depleting, and he had to ask for a loan from friends. No one helped him, but Nasreen showed support. In his words:
"My wife supported me a lot during that period full of struggle. She sold her jewellery so we could provide for food in the house. We even sold our house to make our ends meet. I had begun to lose hope with time. There was a time when I was not sure what would I feed my family for the next meal. She sold all her jewellery so I could pursue my acting ambitions without worrying about the food on the table. Eventually, we even had to sell our house. But I didn't give up."

The actor has credited his wife for being the pillar of support, despite fighting cancer, and she has been selling off her jewellery to manage the finances of their home. Sharib and Nasreen had even sold off their home to make ends meet. Sharib's struggles went on for three years and then he had decided to take a job. He started working with Sony TV and wrote scripts for the anchors for their shows. He worked in a short film named, Mehrooni and that is how his debut- Jab Tak Hai Jaan happened.

Sharib, in the interview with Siddharth Kannan, shared how his wife was diagnosed with oral cancer, but it did not affect the way she looked at life. The actor remembered when things in his life improved professionally, Nasreen fought cancer. He said his wife has been strong willed, courageous, has had four surgeries and yet she gets up within 3-4 days every time. He said Nasreen has the will to live for her kids and for him.

Casting director, Shanoo Sharma, had watched Sharib's work, and he was selected for SRK, Anushka Sharma, and Katrina Kaif's Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which was released in 2012. Sharib's dream of being an actor started off as a kid but his heart was not into the same. He shared his wife, Nasreem, helped him kiss his dreams and revealed:
"When I wasn't getting anywhere with those dreams, I decided to store away my acting ambitions. I got busy working on television doing MTV's 'Bakra' and other spoofy stuff. But my heart was clearly not in it. However, I got married and I had a child. So my dreams had to be buried alive....only to be exhumed because of my wife's support."

Sharib started giving auditions when he was 33, quit his well-paying job when he was having a comfortable life, and was married. He shared that if his wife had not believed in him, then he would not have been an actor. Sharib, earlier in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, revealed she left her job after their son was born so that he could pursue his dream to act. In his words:
"It was my wife Nasreen who supported me and stood by my side. She told me, ‘If this is what you want to do in life, then I am with you.’ She had left her job after our son was born. But when we exhausted all our savings, it was she who took up a job again to support the family. She was dabbling with her job and family together. Hats off to her.”
