Farah Khan Shares Telling Her MIL, 'Kiske Paas Time Hai', When Told To Grind 'Masalas' Using Stone

It was in 2004 when Bollywood's ace choreographer, Farah Khan, got married to her long-time love, Shirish Kunder. Farah lost her mother, Menaka Irani, on July 26, 2024, and it looks like her mom-in-law, Geetanjali Kunder has been her biggest pillar of support. However, for Farah, who is a Muslim, being married in a South Indian home was not easy. The choreographer, who is famous for her vlogs, recently shared how her mother-in-law expected her to grind spices in a traditional stone.

Farah Khan shares her mother-in-law was upset as she used a mixer to grind masalas

When Farah was a newly married bahu in the Kunder household, her mother-in-law expected Farah to grind masalas with her hands on a traditional stone and not use the mixer. Farah had visited TV actress, Karishma Tanna's home and shared how her maa-in-law once taunted her for not making the masalas on the stone. Farah shared:

"Once my mother-in-law told me, grind these masalas manually, using grinding stones. Don’t grind them in the mixer. I was like, ‘Kiske paas itna time hai bhai?"

Karishma was left shocked by the bold response of Farah who shared that her mom-in-lawe felt that those masalas make food taste good especially when grinded on a stone. Farah had said to her that the masalas tasted good either way irrespective of being grinded on a stone or in a mixer.

She had spoken to them and shared that her mother-in-law had never cooked for me. She only brings food for her son. She gets idiyappam, coconut-based chicken, idli chutney, and all those things, but not for the choreographer. Farah then, in a joking way, shared that her maa-in-law would watch this episode and call and say that she does not feed her food as the choreographer does not like it.

"My mom was a very unique person.. never wanted the limelight or any fuss around her.. despite the hard knocks she faced in her early life she was a rare one who had no bitterness or envy towards anyone. Everyone who met her loved her and realised where we get our sense of humour from. Well hardly.. she was far wittier and funny than both sajid and I put together."
