Meet Fatima Bosch, Miss Mexico, Walked Out Of Miss Universe 2025, Insulted By Pageant Director Nawat

Fatima Bosch Fernandez, is model and beauty queen, who won the Miss Universe Mexico 2025. Renowned for her beauty, Fatima represented Mexico in the Miss Universe 2025 pageant held in Thailand. However, the model is making headlines after she was seen walking out of the contest. Surprisingly, many other beauty queens from different countries walked out with her. 

But why did Fatima and the other Miss Universe 2025 participants decide to walk out? It has everything to do with the comments of the Thai pageant director, Nawat Itsaragrisil. So, here's everything to know about Fatima Bosch and the Miss Universe 2025 controversy involving Nawat. 

Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch vs Nawat Itsaragrisil: What exactly happened? 

Miss Universe 2025 will be held on November 21, 2025, in Thailand. Hence, the beauty queens from all around have already gathered in the host country to prepare for the contest. However, the start of the pageant has been quite controversial after Thai pageant director Nawat Itsaragrisil was involved in a spat with Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch. 

At the sash ceremony, Nawat, who is overseeing the pageant as part of the Miss Universe organisation, questioned some of the participants about why they did not attend a social media shoot. Then he directly pointed at Miss Mexico Fatima and asked her to explain her absence from the shoot. Nawat accused her of not showing respect and asked her:

“Mexico, where are you? I heard you’re not going to support everything about Thailand, is that true?”

While Fatima tried to explain herself, Nawat called her a 'dumb'. This sparked anger among the other beauty queens. Nawat also alleged that Miss Mexico was listening only to the Miss Mexico team, not to the Miss Universe directors. He also tried to shut down Fatima by asking why she was talking back to him. Fatima stood her ground and pushed by saying that she had a voice and he needed to respect her. Miss Mexico asserted:

“As women, you need to show respect for us. I’m here representing a country and it’s not my fault that you have problems with my organization."

However, Nawat escalated the situation further by calling security on Fatima Bosch. The other contestants flared up at this and expressed their anger as well. After being humiliated, Miss Mexico walked out of the room to show her defiance. Along with her many other beauty queens representing their respective countries walked out too. The current Miss Universe, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, also walked out to show her support. Seeing this rebellious act, Nawat threatened the leaving participants that if they wanted to contest, they should sit down. However, many of the pageant queens still followed Fatima out of the room. 

Who is Fatima Bosch, the beauty queen who walked out of Miss Universe 2025? 

Fatima Bosch is a 25-year-old beauty queen who was born in Tabasco, Mexico. In 2018, she stepped into the world of pageantry after winning the Golden Flower title at the Flor Tabasco 2025. Then, after winning Miss Universe Tabasco 2025, she competed in Miss Mexico 2025. Now, she is representing her country in Thailand. As per a report by Soy Futbol, Fatima was in a relationship with fullback, Kevin Alvarez, reportedly. However, the relationship was never officially confirmed. Moreover, it isnt known if they are still together or not. 

Miss Universe 2025: Nawat Itsaragrisil apologised. What's next for the pageantry? 

The whole ordeal was live-streamed by the Miss Universe Thailand organisation. As a result, Nawat's tirade and disrespect against Fatima and the other beauty queens became viral. A massive backlash followed, with celebrities also condemning the spat. President of the pageantry, Raul Rocha, announced that Nawat's role in the organisation would be completely limited. Raul Rocha also condemned the incident and the disrespect shown to the women. He also announced that the sash ceremony was postponed. 

Nawat Itsaragrisil, on the other hand, initially took to his TikTok account to issue an apology. However, as the backlash mounted, Nawat called a press conference to apologize. He was seen crying uncontrollably, which many viewers have called theatrics. The disgraced pageant director stated that he was human and had a lot of pressure on him, which made him act that way. Nawat shared:

“I want to take this opportunity to say something about something that’s happened. Because I am a human. I think you must understand the pressure is a lot, I am a human sometimes. I cannot control. By the way, I have not intend to hurt anyone. I have to apologize for the delegates."
