Famous Pakistan actors, Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan's blockbuster film, The Legend Of Maula Jatt, which was released worldwide in 2022, is all set to make history. Well, let us inform you that it is the first Pakistani film that is going to be released in Indian theaters in over a decade. Earlier, Atif Aslam and Humaima Malick's film, Bol was released in Indian theaters in 2011.
Recently, Pakistani director took to his Instagram handle and shared how excited he is as the film, The Legend of Maula Jatt will be release in India in September 2024. Bilal added how it has been two years since the release of the film, and still, it is a houseful in Pakistan on weekends. He wrote:
"Releasing in India, Punjab on Wednesday, 2nd October! Two years in, and still house full on weekends in Pakistan! Now, I can’t wait for our Punjabi audience in India to experience the magic of this labor of love!"
For those who don't know, the action film features Fawad Khan in the lead role. The Pakistani heartthrob became a popular actor in India. In fact, half of the Indian girls were die-hard fans of the Pakistani heartthrob. But due to the ban, Fawad Khan and many Pakistani actors were left with no work in India.
For the uninitiated, the film was released in Pakistan in 2022, and it broke all records. It is a remake of the 1979 cult film, Maula Jatt. The movie gained a lot of traction, earning Rs. 400 crore globally and becoming Pakistan's highest-grossing film to date.
Another thing to be noted here is that it is significant move after the ban on Pakistani actors working in India was lifted. The two countries have not been sharing friendly terms after terror incidents. In fact, it was Fawad's casting in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which fueled the conversation of Pakistani actors finding work in India. After which, his career in India seemed over.
The Legends of Maula Jatt is set in Punjab and Pakistan. It is a story about 'Maula Jatt', played by Fawad Khan, who was a renowned wrestler. He often experiences flashbacks of his past, but he has no clear memory of the moment. The film revolves around his quest to uncover his true identity and to learn about his family. However, the plot gets interesting after he encounters 'Noori Natt', the most feared warrior of Punjab.

The film also includes Mahira Khan as 'Mukhioo Jattni', Hamza Ali Abbasi as 'Noori Natt', Humaima Malick as 'Daaro Nattni', Shafqat Cheema as 'Jeeva Natt', Gohar Rasheed as 'Maakha Natt', Saima Baloch as Rajjo, Ali Azmat as 'Gogi' and Resham as 'Malika Jatt'.
