Shamla Hamza's performance in the highly acclaimed film Feminichi Fathima has won her the prestigious 55th Kerala State Film Award. She won the Best Actor (Female) award alongside Malayalam superstar, Mammootty, who Best Actor (Male). A must-watch social drama, Feminichi Fathima, was released in theatres on October 10, 2025. Here's where and when the film will be available on the OTT platform.
Feminichi Fathima was initially released for international film festivals in 2024. It had swept awards at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) 2024. After this positive reception, actor and producer, Dulquer Salman took it upon himself to distribute the film at Indian cinemas through his Wayfarer Films. Hence, Feminichi Fathima hit the theatres in October 2025.

As of now, the film isn't available on any OTT platform, and there's been no official word on where it might be released digitally. However, with Feminichi Fathima winning big at the Kerala State Film Awards and rousing people's curiosity about the film, it is expected to be available for streaming soon. As for the platform, nothing has been confirmed yet.

However, most reports speculate that the streaming giant, Netflix, might buy the digital rights. These speculations arise from the fact that, though Netflix offers a limited selection of Malayalam films, most of Dulquer Salmaan's previous projects have been released on the OTT platform. But Amazon Prime could also be a frontrunner in getting the streaming rights, since this OTT giant has the most prominent catalogue of popular and award-winning Malayalam cinema.

Shamla Hamza essays the titular role of 'Feminichi (feminist) Fathima'. In the film, Shamla plays a woman whose life revolves around caring for her children, husband, and in-laws. Her opinions, needs, and dreams are subjugated by her own family and society. However, after a minor but symbolic incident, 'Fathima' comes to understand and strives for independence and freedom. The nuance and perfection with which Shamla played the character made her the recipient of the prestigious Kerala State Film Awards.

Feminichi Fathima was produced by Thamar K.V., Sudheesh Skaria, and Faasil Muhammed. The latter also wrote the screenplay of the film. In an interview with The Hindu, Shamla Hamza shared that she was nearly 6 months post-partum when filming began. Having given birth to her infant daughter a few months ago in real life, and observing the women from her neighbourhood, helped Shamla prepare her for the role of 'Fathima'. She shared:
"The shooting of the film began when my daughter was 5-6 months old. By then, in the postpartum period, I had naturally acquired the required physical characteristics of the character. I had gained weight, was tired and also had back pain, just like the character of Fathima. I also had in the back of my mind the mannerisms of women like her from my neighbourhood whom I have seen for years."
