Akshay Kumar Had To Quit A Film With Priyanka Chopra, After Twinkle Learned About Their Affair Buzz

Akshay Kumar, one of the most renowned actors in Bollywood, never misses an opportunity to win the hearts of his fans. Apart from being an actor, Akshay is also a doting father to his kids, and a dutiful husband to his wife, Twinkle Khanna. Over the years, several controversies have surrounded Akshay, including one about his speculated relationship with Priyanka Chopra.

The gorgeous actress, Priyanka Chopra worked with Akshay in three films, and all of them turned out to be successful. The duo was all set to work in another film, Barsaat. One song had been shot already, but Akshay had to quit, owing to his affair buzz with the actress. Recently, the director, Suneel Darshan talked about the same, and mentioned that it was unethical of Akshay to leave the film.

Suneel Darshan reveals how Akshay Kumar quit from a film, after his affair buzz with Priyanka reached Twinkle Khanna

Suneel Darshan recently sat for an interview with journalist, Vickey Lalwani, wherein he revealed that a beautiful song for the film had already been shot between Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar. Following this, the director was called on Akshay's set, and it was before they proceeded into the final schedule of the film, during which the entire movie was about to be made.

However, Akshay Kumar informed Suneel that some problems had arisen that were beyond his control, and some repercussions had also been occurring in his personal life. Akshay directly told Suneel that either he or Priyanka would do the film. Suneel could be quoted as saying:

"When it was time to get back for the final schedule, during which the entire movie had to be made, I was called by Akshay to his set. Seldom was I called to his sets, so I was surprised. He informed me that there were some issues that were uncontrollable, and there were some repercussions on his personal life. He requested me to take a decision on how to move further. I can’t remember the exact words, but it was about having either him or Priyanka in the movie."

Going forward in the interview, Suneel Darshan revealed that it was not the fact that Akshay didn't wish to work with Priyanka, but it so happened that the speculations of a certain thing reached Twinkle that prompted Akshay to quit. Suneel said that after making him wait for 18 months, Akshay said that he wouldn't be able to be a part of the film. Suneel further shared that Akshay was ready to compensate by doing the next film with him, but he was just shocked to his core. In Suneel's words:

"It’s not about him not wanting to work with Priyanka Chopra. Circumstances had reached a point… The public, the media did mention a relationship, which the wife got to know of. But suddenly, after making me wait for 18 months, to say that I can’t be a part of the film, I was shocked."

In the same interview, Suneel said that he approached Akshay when he was giving back-to-back flops. However, their collaboration on Jaanwar, proved to be fruitful for the actor, and he promised to do 100 films with the director. However, their streak ended at seven, later, although, they worked together in another film, the director felt that the chemistry had fizzled out. He also revealed that he had not met Akshay in two decades. Suneel stated that Bobby Deol replaced Akshay in Barsaat, and Priyanka Chopra was also in the film, as she didn't impose any 'unethical' conditions on him.

In another interview with Friday Talkies, Suneel Darshan revealed that some blunders happened with Akshay Kumar, and rumours about him and Priyanka Chopra started circulating, which led Twinkle Khanna to even leave his home. He also shared that as an actor, Akshay should have been more responsible, especially since his wife is an actress who is familiar with the entire industry and its workings.
