HBO's fantasy drama, Game of Thrones, is one of the most-watched and most expensive TV series of all time. The show, which aired in 2011, ran through eight seasons and 73 episodes and showed layered themes in the powerful families who wanted to have their hands on the 'Iron Throne'. While the audience remained stuck to the screens through seven seasons, the last season became a bit controversial with a whole lot of questions lingering, with possibilities of spin-offs and sequels, as GOT had an open ending with multiple possibilities, which began with the threats of the 'Night Walkers' that were only resolved in one episode.
While the prequels like The House of Dragons and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms were announced recently, the author, George R.R. Martin, confirmed that at least five or six more Game of Thrones spin-offs are 'in development' at HBO. During a recent interview with Spanish outlet, Los Siete Reinis, the author of Game of Thrones, George R.R. Martin shared that he has been developing further projects of the show.

No sooner was his interview up than people started wondering what possible themes or angles the spin-offs and sequels would explore. The ending of the show, GOT, was controversial with multiple facts, including 'Daenerys' turning into a tyrant, 'Jamie' returning to 'Cersei', and no lead with the fact that 'Jon Snow' was a secret 'Targaryen' heir, but with 'Bran' being the owner of 'Iron Throne'.

The long-teased angle over the 'White Walkers' was ended with a simple explanation in only one episode, which felt rushed to critics and viewers, as GOT has been known for its layered storytelling. No wonder, when the prequels were announced, with different timelines that the OG series, the craze was tamed. Now that it was announced that the sequels and spin-offs are in the making, viewers are wondering what possible angles GOT will explore.

While not confirmed, the last episode showed one of the much-loved characters, 'Arya Stark', sailing in the west of Westeros to explore the unknown. So, there might be a teeny-tiny possibility that the sequels and spin-offs would want to explore that portion, bringing back the original timeline.

The most disappointing factor of GOT ending was that even after 'Jon Snow' was revealed as a secret 'Targaryen' heir, he ended up where he began, 'The Wall', and it felt that all the built up energy of the viewers to see 'Snow' rulling, just diminised, even though 'Bran Stark' became the ruler, which left a spot open for the sequel and spin offs to explore Westors' political state.

'Jon Snow' had to kill 'Daenerys' from stopping her to become a tyrant. So, the sequels might also explore his emotional weight that he would be carrying, and who might say that the sequel and spin-offs can also resolve super fast exploration of the final season showing 'Daenerys' turning into a tyrant and a layered story about the 'Night Walkers', or maybe the the jloted power-struggles within the powerful families. Well, nothing is confirmed as of yet, but one thing is assured: it surely sparked a new wave of interest among the GOT fanatics.
What do you think can be the possible angle of GOT sequels?
