Parents are the ones, who play the biggest and the most important role in shaping us. But when this most precious gift of God is taken away from us by death, it leaves us shattered. It’s so hard to put into words how one feels about losing a parent, let alone being in that situation. When life throws lemons, it is our parents, who give us strength and a hug from them, vanishes every problem in the world. But when we are devastated by their demise, we have no shoulder to cry on. It was on March 3, 2021, when Gauahar Khan had posted a throwback picture from her wedding, with her father. In the picture, the photographer had beautifully captured the emotional moment shared between Gauahar and her father. Gauahar had captioned her post with her ‘strongest Pappa’ as “A fathers kiss. #Blessing. Zafar Ahmed Khan, I love you soooooooooo much. #MyPappaStrongest.” In the next post, Gauahar had shared a lovely family picture from her wedding with her parents and husband, Zaid Darbar in the frame. Captioning the post, Gauahar had written a song from the film, Hum, “Ek doosre se karte hain pyaar hum #Alhamdulillah #GAZAbkahaiDin.” Zaid had also posted a picture with his coolest father-in-law and asked his fans to keep him in their duas. He had written, “Please keep my father in law in your Duaa's. Allah give him the best of health. Ameen! He's the coolest man I know. Alhamdulillah.”

Gauahar Khan’s father passed away and the actress penned a eulogy for him by sharing a picture on her Instagram handle. Penning what he meant in her life, Gauahar wrote, “My Hero. No man like u, Ever! My father has passed, to the ever after as an Angel. Alhamdulillah. His passing away was a testament to his beautiful life n the best soul he was. Forever My Pappa. I love you oh so much. I am sooooo much of you Pappa. N yet can never ever be even a percent of your magnanimous personality. #MyForeverShiningStar Keep him in your prayers please. innal lillahee wainna ilayhi raajeeoon.” Gauahar is taking care of the funeral arrangements of her father.

Gauahar Khan’s sisters, Kausar Suleman Khan and Zakia Z Khan penned eulogies for their father on IG stories. Sharing a picture of her Pappa, Zakia wrote, “Innalilahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun, Alhamdulilah my blessed father zafar ahmed khan has returned to his creator! Rabbir hamhuma kama rabbayani sageerah.. Aameen yar abb” and “I love you Pappa so much that it hurts” atop her stories. Zakia wrote, “Papa you showed to the world that Allah loved him with his final journey! You lived like a king & left this world like an angel! Those who are loved by him! Gauahar Khan’s close family friend, Preeti Simoes earlier confirmed the news with a eulogy on her IG handle. Preeti posted a video, comprising of some lovely memories of late Zafar Ahmed Khan. Preeti captioned the post as “mere Gauahar ke pappa... To the man i loved... Lived with pride ... and will be remembered with pride Strength and Love. To the family. @gauaharkhan @zakiazkhan @nigaarzkhan @queenkausarsuleman @raziakhan1503 @zaid_darbar @asaadzkhan.”
On January 14, 2021, Gauahar Khan had penned a birthday wish for her father and posted a picture with two Zs for her life. Sharing a lovely picture with her father and her husband, Zaid Darbar in the frame, Gauahar had written, “To the coolest dad ever. My father, My friend, My forever. I love you Pappa. May Allah grant u the longest, healthiest life. Ameen. The Z’s in my life. @zaid_darbar #ZafarAhmedKhan.
