Celebrity MasterChef Winner Gaurav Khanna Reveals If He Actually Left Anupamaa Due To Rupali Ganguly

Gaurav Khanna won the show, Celebrity MasterChef and left everyone in awe of his cooking skills. Ahead of being a part of the show, Gaurav Khanna made it to the headlines after quitting the show, Anupamaa, as the reports were rife that the actor left the show due to his cold fights with Rupali Ganguly. Well, after winning the show, Celebrity MasterChef, Gaurav revealed the truth behind him leaving the show.

Gaurav Khanna shares Rajan Shahi was asked not to hire him in Anupamaa

In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, Gaurav Khanna shared that he wanted to prove to himself that he could do it, and he also wanted to prove it to Rajan Shahi, as the director had full faith in him despite people telling him not to hire the Celebrity MasterChef winner. In the same interview, the actor was asked if these comments came from some co-actors or someone from the team. Replying to the same, Gaurav revealed that Rajan was the only person who insisted on casting him in Anupamaa, and thus, he never really cared about other people's opinions, and thus, he gave his 200 per cent in the show. In Gaurav's words:

"I wanted to prove to myself that I can do it. Secondly, I wanted to prove it to Rajan (Rajan Shahi) sir because he had faith in me. Many people told him, 'Why are you taking him? Take someone else; there are bigger, better names. Your show is so big.' Many people said this to him."

Gaurav Khanna reveals whether he quit the show due to his cold fights with Rupali Ganguly

Gaurav Khanna played the role of 'Anuj Kapadia' in the show, Anupamaa. When he quit the show, it left his fans superbly upset. Reports claimed that the actor quit the show due to his ongoing cold fight with Rupali Ganguly. Well, in the recent interview with Pinkvilla, Gaurav Khanna was asked about the same. To this, the actor said that Rajan Shahi hadn't killed his character, and it was just a comma after him not a full stop.

The actor further revealed that there's no space for his character in the story anymore. He also shared that it doesn't mean that he would return to the show, but it's Indian Television and anything can happen anytime, as there had been examples of how several characters became alive after they were killed off at first. When asked if he would like to return to the show, Anupamaa, Gaurav revealed that he would surely, but there should be a texture in the story. In Gaurav's words:

"Anuj Kapadia, for me, is a comma; there's no fullstop. Rajan Sir hasn't killed the character. It's just that there's no space in the story for him. But it is Indian Television. Anyone can be alive and there are many examples. However, that doesn't mean that I'm coming back to the show. But never say never. Why not!! It is one of my most cherished characters but I think every story has a texture."

Gaurav Khanna once reacted to his cold fight buzz with Rupali

Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Gaurav talked about his cold fight rumours with Rupali. Talking about the same, the actor shared that he doesn't really put his focus on the buzz around as he only cares about the work they have done together, and he believes in that craft. The actor also shared that whatever happens behind the scenes, is cut to secondary for him.
