Talking about his infinite love for Dhoni, Gaurav revealed that when he first met him, he touched his feet. He shares that Dhoni doesn't belong to any state, he belongs to the entire country, that is why he is collecting wishes for him across India by cycling with his wife, Ritu.
However, the moment Gaurav and Ritu announced their project, Desh Ka Dhoni, netizens started trolling them. The couple's fans didn't like them leaving their daughters, Rashi and Pihu at home. One user wrote, "Msd more important than children and parents." Another user wrote, "Whole india loves dhoni but ye kya natak chal raha hai yaar?? Ye banda law kar raha tha na?? Kya huya uss law ka?? Apne bacho ko ghar mein chodkar ye sab cheap content bana rahe hai... Agar youtube band ho gaya toh ye sab khatam."
Another netizen also commented, "I don't know why they planned babies if they wanna live like this...pihu almost lives without her mother and father. It would be different if they were going for a job or flying but for such stupidity which doesn't make any sense to left kids at home. Not a great move." One of the user commented, "They used to be the most genuine people on you tube but now its all fake and for money."
However, in a media interaction, Gaurav revealed that it is his parents, who have been taking care of their daughters, Rashi and Pihu. He also added that they are supporting him in his dream.

Last year, Gaurav Taneja's wife, Ritu Rathee had planned a surprise birthday for him in the Delhi metro. She had hosted a meet and greet session, which turned out to be a massive fail, as many people turned up, leaving the couple shocked. After this, Gaurav was taken to the police station, and the news of his arrest was leaked on social media.
