Shah Rukh Khan's wife, Gauri Khan, is on cloud nine as she has recently become the brand ambassador of Emanate Home as she launched the Delhi Experience Centre. She has now redefined the landscape of uber luxurious interiors and has focused on the fact of bespoke living. For Gauri, her heart lies in Delhi as it was the city where she grew up, studied and completed her college at Lady Shri Ram College. Gauri did her BA Honours in History from Delhi and recently spoke about what the city meant to her.

Gauri Khan reveals what Delhi means to her at her first-ever design experience centre

Gauri's vision with her first-ever design centre space in Delhi was to create something immersive. She wanted to feel like a home where one could walk through, have an experience of Gauri Khan's designs, as every piece, corner is designed to spark emotion and inspire imagination. Gauri, who also had done a six-month fashion degree course from the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology, was asked if she felt nostalgic visiting Delhi. Gauri's smile lightened as she shared in an interview with ANI:

"Yes, well Delhi is a city where I have spent my childhood, and Bombay is a place where Gauri Khan Designs was born. Both cities are equally important for me.

Why did Gauri Khan come up with the Delhi Experience Centre?

Gauri further went on to reveal that the vision behind creating the Delhi Experience Centre was that the lifestyle zone really stands out as it allows one to see how the pieces fit into the real setting. It is not just about showcasing furniture; it is also about creating stories through space, especially customised furniture. It brings freedom. For her, designing was all about reflecting who you are and evolving with you over time. She firmly believes that every project needs to be authentic, have people who will live in. Authentic to the people who live in. She is also someone who believes that designers need to be true to their instincts and not get lost in trends. As good design is timeless, and individuality is the biggest strength of one.

When Shah Rukh Khan met Gauri Khan in Delhi

Gauri Khan met Shah Rukh Khan during her teenage days. According to a report by News 18, they met for the first time at the party of a common friend. She was just 14 and King Khan was 18 back then. Both young teenagers started dating, fell in love and then romance bloomed between the two. However, Gauri's parents were strict and did not approve of the relationship. Later, she left for Mumbai and did not even inform Shah Rukh Khan.

The 'King Of Romance', SRK was very scared to lose her so he followed her to Mumbai and then regained her love. Gauri had set off with her friends to Mumbai. They overcame all the hardships of love, and it was on October 25, 1991, when the megastar couple got married. Their eldest son, Aaryan, was born in 1997, and it was in 2000 that their daughter, Suhana Khan, was born. It was in 2013 when SRK and Gauri became parents to AbRam via surrogacy. Delhi is synonymous with the love story of the couple as Gauri back then stayed in Panchshil Apartments while SRK stayed in Hauz Khas.
