Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are considered to be the power couple of Bollywood. The duo got married in 1991, and since then, they have been shelling out some major couple goals. For those who chipped in late, Gauri Khan's family was entirely against her and Shah Rukh's wedding. However, the much-in-love couple proved that love knows no bounds, thereby taking relationship goals to a top-notch level. Cut to now, SRK and Gauri are blessed with three adorable kids, Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan, and AbRam Khan.
In the book, King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema, journalist, Anupama Chopra talked about the difficulties that SRK faced to get married to Gauri. In the book, the journalist said that Gauri's brother, Vikrant Chibber, was not actually happy with the relationship of his sister with the actor, and he even threatened him. Moreover, in an old interview, Gauri Khan confessed the same. In a 1994 interview with Filmfare, Gauri said that her brother, Vikrant is very cool and extremely possessive about his sister. Gauri added that Vikrant used to get red, and he had murder on his mind if he ever got a glimpse of Shah Rukh looking at Gauri. Gauri could be quoted as saying:
"He’s (Vikrant) a very cool, laid-back guy but whenever he saw Shah Rukh he saw red. He was very possessive about me and he had murder on his mind every time he caught Shah Rukh looking at me."

In the same interview, Gauri further mentioned that her brother, Vikrant Chibber used to give threats to Shah Rukh Khan to beat him up. Gauri said that such threats surely left Shah Rukh irritated, but he had never said anything, considering Vikrant was his wifey's brother. Speaking along the same lines, Gauri said:
"He’d scream, ‘I’ll beat you to pulp, I’ll bash you up.’ The threats must have irritated Shah Rukh no end, but since he was my brother Shah Rukh would just nod and say, ‘Yeah, yeah whatever you say."
Going further in the interview, Gauri Khan shared how it was natural for his brother to date a girl when he was in 12th standard and how she was not even allowed to like a boy when she was in 9th standard. Gauri said that when she met SRK, she was in the 9th grade, and her brother, Vikrant, met his girlfriend in the same year, in the same month. Speaking about how it took four years for her brother to accept SRK, Gauri mentioned:
“I met Shah Rukh when I was in the ninth standard and he was in the twelfth. Vikrant met his girlfriend the same year, the same month. It was all right for him to date a girl but I couldn’t even dare to like Shah Rukh. It took Vikrant four years to accept Shah Rukh…”

For the unversed, Gauri Khan had the surname Chibber before the wedding owing to her Punjabi roots. However, soon after she fell in love and wanted to get married to a Muslim boy, who is even a film star, it became a problem for the diva's family. As per several reports, Gauri's father had a problem with SRK's career and religion, while Gauri's mom considered the actor not to be a perfect partner for her daughter. As per several reports, Gauri's mom, Savita Chibber, even took an astrologer's help to break her daughter's relationship with the actor.
However, in the book, King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema, journalist, Anupama Chopra shared that Gauri's brother once even threatened the actor with a gun, but it didn't scare the latter. An excerpt from the book about the same topic could be read as:
“Vikrant had a reputation of being a goonda (thug). He threatened Shah Rukh with a gun, but the posturing didn’t scare his sister’s suitor.”
