For the unversed, Gauri's journey of designing began by decorating her and her husband, SRK's Delhi home. This was because after purchasing the house, the couple wasn't in a position to afford an interior designer. Thus, Gauri had to play the role. Afterwards, something similar happened when SRK and Gauri brought Mannat, which turned into a heritage landmark over time. Thus, praising Gauri for the same, after her ‘coffee table book’, My Life in Design, was launched, SRK dropped a lovely post for her. Along with the post, he penned:
“The task of designing her own house, which was rather big, the appreciation of friends and the sheer determination to make sure that our home was what we always desired egged her on to learn new things. She trained herself to understand spaces and figure out how basic amenities, logistics and beauty come together to make a home.”
