The latest trend of dreamy destination weddings is wholeheartedly followed in 2018 as well by our favourite B-town and tinsel town couples. Starting off with the first wedding of 2018, television’s heart-throb Gautam Rode is all set to tie the nuptial knot with his lady-love, Pankhuri Awasthy on February 5, 2018. The couple got engaged in October 2017 and now they decided to take their relationship to next level, marriage.
Gautam with his family flew down to Alwar, Rajasthan where the functions took place. The wedding venue, Tijara Fort Palace is all decked up for their wedding. From a vibrant mehendi function to an aesthetic engagement party and a fun-filled cocktail night, the lovebirds seem to be having a perfect destination wedding. Sharing the picture of them on Twitter, Gautam tweeted, "New Beginnings #mehendi".
For the mehendi function, Pankhuri looked the prettiest and happy bride-to-be in a bright pink ensemble with kundan jewellery and messy hair. Gautam looked dapper in a navy-blue kurta. For the engagement ceremony, Pankhuri wore a sandstone pink coloured lehenga with heavy embellishments. Her look was complemented with diamond jewellery and dewy make-up. The groom-to-be wore a floral waistcoat with the beige kurta. For the sangeet ceremony, the couple looked royal in their outfits. Pankhuri’s off-shoulder light pink gown was truly an epitome of elegance and beauty. Gautam opted for a black tuxedo suit. Announcing his low-key engagement affair, the Saraswatichandra actor revealed to a media portal, “Yes, Pankhuri and I recently got engaged and I feel lucky to have found a life partner like her. We share the same wavelength and she has fit into my family perfectly.” Pankhuri was also quoted as saying about the same, "We have taken the first step. The families have wholeheartedly welcomed our union. In Gautam, I have found the answer to all my dreams. I’m eagerly looking forward to the most important phase of my life.” Starting their journey of love from being co-stars in Suryaputra Karn to finally soulmates, their love gradually evolved and turned strong. Initially, they had always kept their relationship under the wraps.
In an earlier statement about their engagement ceremony, a source was quoted as saying to Bombay Times, "They had a small roka ceremony attended by their families. Both Gautam and Pankhuri are introverts and they have always remained guarded about their personal lives. They have been together for almost two years now and decided to get engaged during Diwali, making it even more special for their loved ones.” (Recommended Read: This Actress Had An Intimate Roka Ceremony With Her Actor-Boyfriend After Dating Him For 3 Years)
In an interview with Bollywood Life, Gautam also talked about the same and said, ''The engagement isn’t secret anymore. Everyone knows about it now. The intention was never to keep it a secret. I have always believed that there is no point of talking about something until you know which direction it is going to go in. Once both the families got involved, we got engaged, I did speak about it. Now, I know for sure that our relationship is moving towards marriage and hence I am talking about it.''
Despite their busy schedules, this much-in-love couple makes sure to take some time out to spend with each other. Before their wedding, they went on a vacation to Thailand to spend some quality time together. After getting engaged, Gautam shared the first picture with his fiancée, Pankhuri and captioned it, “Start of a new journey. Thanku friends for all your lovely wishes.” Pankhuri too took to her Instagram to thank her fans for the wishes and wrote, “I carry the sun in a golden cup, The moon in a silver bag. Thank you everyone for your wishes and blessings.”
We all are eagerly waiting to see this lovely couple as bride and groom.
