Gautami Kapoor Reacts To Sonu Kakkar's Fallout With Neha And Tony Kakkar, 'I Think This Is..'

The Kakkar siblings are grabbing the headlines recently, not for any music endeavour or celebration but for an unexpected rift among them. It looks like all is not well in the family, as the nation witnessed an emotional fallout between Sonu Kakkar and her siblings, Neha and Tony Kakkar. While not much is known about the fallout yet, actress Gautami Kapoor expressed her views on the same.

Gautami Kapoor is a well-known television actress who is known to speak her mind. In the past few months, Gautami grabbed media attention after her fearless remarks surrounding her husband, Ram Kapoor’s weight loss theory and Ektaa Kapoor’s indirect jab at him. The actress was recently spotted at a fashion event where she took some time out to answer some questions.  When asked about the emotional fallout between singer Sonu Kakkar and her siblings, Neha and Tony Kakkar, Gautami responded by saying:

“I think this is an interpersonal family situation. I don't think social media or any of us have the right to give an opinion on it. Because jo family me hota hai, wo family members ko hi pata hota hai. So I don't want to comment on it because it's their life and their time.”

Sonu Kakkar cuts ties with Neha and Tony Kakkar

The buzz surrounding the Kakkar family drama took over social media on April 12, 2025, after Sonu Kakkar left an explosive note on her X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram handles. In the now-deleted post, Sonu made a shocking announcement, claiming that she no longer considers herself a sister to Neha and Tony Kakkar. Her post read:

"Deeply devastated to inform you all that I am no longer a SISTER to the two talented Superstars, Tony Kakkar and Neha Kakkar. This decision of mine comes from a place of deep emotional pain, and I am truly disheartened today."

Sonu Kakkar was absent from Tony Kakkar’s birthday bash

The drama between the Kakkar siblings intensified after Sonu’s explosive post when eagle-eyed netizens noticed that the singer and her husband, Neeraj, did not attend Tony Kakkar’s birthday bash on April 9, 2025. The siblings, who usually celebrate every occasion with glitzy posts and reels, did not make any mention of Sonu’s absence from the celebrations, raising eyebrows.

The Kakkar siblings have created magic together in the Indian music industry. Sonu Kakkar has made a name for herself as a playback singer for her unique voice, and she has collaborated on several of Tony's hits, including Urban Munda, Funky Mohabbat, Booty Shake, and Phir Teri Bahon Mein. Neha, of course, has often joined in, making the trio a fan-favourite. 

Sonu has also made her mark as a judge on Indian Idol 12 and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Punjabi, and was even a featured artist on Coke Studio India. Her collaboration with Vishal Dadlani in Coke Studio India in 2012 for the song, Madari, remains a fan favourite. 

Sonu’s emotional post may be gone, but the questions haven’t stopped. Neither Sonu, Neha, nor Tony has commented publicly since the post vanished.
