Geer Grammer Did Not See Her Father, Kelsey Grammer For 12 Years, Says 'Do You Ever Miss Me?'

If you are a fan of Kelsey Grammer, you might be aware that the Frasier star has fathered many children from his various relationships. Geer Grammer, one of his eight children, whom he shares with ex, Barrie Buckner, recently got candid about her life with her father and how she grew up with almost no contact with him during an episode of the Pretty Basic podcast.

Geer Grammer details her childhood without her father, Kelsey Grammer

The American actress, Geer Grammer, did not shy away from revealing to Alisha Marie and Remi Cruz, the hosts of the Pretty Basic podcast, how her life had been in the absence of her father, Kelsey Grammer. She also made it clear that, while both she and her father are in the same industry, she is not a nepo baby in any way. The Awkward star stated:

"I didn't know my dad until I was 16. People have misconceptions about me when they hear my last name because they're like, 'Oh, well, that's Kelsey Grammer's daughter. Clearly, she grew up in this way.' And that makes so much sense. I'd think that too. But yeah, I think that's the biggest misconception about me is: my dad left when I was four and then I didn't meet him again until I was 16."

According to Geer Grammer, the only memories she had of her father were from her early childhood. This includes her watching him film an episode of Frasier when she was only 3 years old, and him, in turn, watching her act in a preschool production of The Wizard of Oz. While she has a few very vivid memories of her father, she couldn't recall precisely when Kelsey Grammer stopped being a part of her life. Geer Grammer further recalled how she ‘grew up as an only child’. This is because, while she has seven half-siblings, her mother, makeup artist, Barrie Buckner, had no other children, and she had no contact with her ex or his other sons and daughters. Geer claimed:

"I have so much respect for my mother now as an adult because that must have been so hard to see somebody that you loved on a billboard that broke your heart and left you with a kid that looks exactly like you, and you have to see them everywhere.”

How did Geer Grammer finally get in contact with her father, Kelsey Grammer?

According to Geer Grammer, she did not spare any methods to get in contact with her father. After finding Kelsey Grammer's fan mail address online, she described how she sent him a short message. She wrote, “Do you ever miss me? Do you think about me on my birthday?” Geer also recounted how she made multiple visits to one of her dad's projects, Anastasia, hoping to run into him at least once. Geer Grammer's wish finally came true when she was a teen. The Deadly Illusions actress stated:

"When I was 16, I ran into him at a Christmas tree lot, and he came up to me and he said, 'Are you Geer?' I said, 'Yes, I am.’ Then he went, 'I am—' I was like, 'I know who you are, duh.'”
